    OK, wait.

I was just looking at the videos on that page and something just doesn´t feel right in that one that looks like an X-RAY. It´s too clean. If you´ve ever looked at an X-ray you know that you can still see some of the soft tissue around the bones. In the video all you see is bone. I thought it was totally real until I saw that. Also, how come the cloaking material shows bone and not the guy´s clothes ??? It just doesn´t seem like it should work like that.

Actually, after reading the website more I don't think it is quite as sci-fi as I first thought, although it is still awesome.

    Here is how it works:

The cloak is not a stand alone invisibility device, it is simply a cloak made of a special reflective material that you can project 3d images onto. The cloak works with an external projector that films a 3d image of what is behind the cloak and projects it onto the cloak in the form of a beam that only reflects on the special material the cloak is made of, for the skeleton, instead of what is behind the sheet of material they projected a computerized image of a 3d skeleton programmed to imitate the movements of the guy on camera.

So you can't just put on the cloak and dissapear, you need the projector and someone to operate it, although the technology will probably develop into a stand-alone form in a few years.

It's finally starting to feel like the 21st century
    :)

I know it's real... I actually saw something on Dateline or whatever about a year ago about it. It's cool...it's crazy, though. It freaks me out. I saw the military testing it on a car. It was so weird! I want invisible contacts, so it looks like I have holes in my head. :D

I wonder if one could simply use a dark translucent type cloak that is lit from the backside instead of using a retro-reflector and a projector outside of the retro-reflector. One could have a high speed camera and computer looking at the surrounding terrain and then project the video onto the cloak from behind to make it blend in with the background. Then you wouldn't need the projector outside. It would all be self-contained.

One might be able to conceal a small vehicle that way really well at say twilight where the projection lighting within the vehicle doesn't have to emit too much light power. Of course, the background video would have to be selected such that the people looking at it from a certain vantage point would not see it well. It could work if a military vehicle was trying to slip past a particular point where the enemy was known to be hiding. It would work well where the terrain changes color and brightness along the path of the vehicle.

Maybe even better is if you had an active cloak material that could be made to change color and reflectivity by voltage control. It could blend into the background like a chamelion. It might be possible to do such a thing with nanotechnology materials. (voltage controlled material properties).

Even if you knew where it was. How could you see it?

I know, I know... But it was impossible to resist. :D:D:D

Ha ha. The Pentagon could buy 100 million of those cloaks and then claim they had to buy them all over again because they couldn't find them :)

Then again, the Pentagon has used the same argument for other things that aren't invisible. :)

That explains WHY it doesn't seem to work from the eyes UP. In the first image you posted, you don't see the trees at the TOP of the head. That alone told ME it wasn't true. In the proceeding images, nothing abof the eyes showed through.
    Possibly a Photo-Shop fake??? I think SO!
