For some reason whenever I have a dream I can't remember most of it. I only remember bits and pieces of it. Anyone have the same problem.

Most dreams aren't remembered... the parts you do remember normally take place during the more or less lucid period of sleeping.

I'm sure I don't remember each dream or even every part of those dreams I do remember. However, the really unusual stuff is easier to remember.

    manypeople remember none oftheir dreams

you arent meant to remember your dreams, usually you oly remember them because you considere them after you wake up. and even then its generally only the last dream you had

Someone once told me this... maybe it's worth a shot: Most dreams are forgotten in the first 5 minutes after you wake up. Don't open your eyes. Lie there & try to remember all you can. When you can't remember any more, look to the left (with your eyes closed) and try to remember more. Then look to the right. Repeat as long as possible, or at least until the dog jumps up and starts licking you in the face. Dream recall improves with practice.

dreams are a part of our unconscious. that is why we cannot easily recall them. i wish i could remember my dreams.

i have to disagree that we aren't meant to remember our dreams. that's like saying that someone who can't read wasn't meant to. we don't remember our dreams because we aren't brought up to do so. and parents who read this, take note that you have the power to change this. children have insanely high dream recollecting abilities compared to us, and more attention should be paid to the development of these abilities.

yes i learnt that i could 'brand' dreams into my head if i recalled them as soon as i woke up. if i only noted certain parts of the dream ill only remember certain parts too. so pretty much when im recalling, i remember every detail i recal but nothing more. so sometiems ill have an idea of only a certain amount of teh drea but if i remember a certain bit i can get ltos of detail. i think thats how most dreams are recalled, subconsciously, people think about their dreams for a second or so when they wake up and so they might recal a few details of dreams now and then.

though other dreams definately just stick, strangely

i had a dream a coupple of nights ago, and when i woke up i recited everything that happened in the dream a coupple of times and then wrote it down. but the night after that night and even last night, i don't remember having any dreams at all.
