I don't know of many neo-psychedelic bands, but The Soundtrack Of Our Lives is one of the best bands making music right now, no matter what the genre.

In my opinion, their Origin, Vol. 1 has been the best album released so far this year.

If you like psychedelia, check it out!

    list your favorites too!

The Flaming Lips is a psychedelic band. They have VERY psychedelic lyrics and interesting and creative music, I just don't like the singer.

What else, plenty of jam bands around. A lot of electronic music could be called psychedelia now. Medeski Martin and Wood play some psychdelic Jazz

Lamp of the universe is a good one, but I'm not sure if they are still active.

Some other good ones whom I've found:

    Of Montreal
    The Church
    Mercury Rev
Nic Armstrong & The Thieves (not very psychedelic, but they sound like early Stones, when they were still a blues band !)
    The National
    The Sights
    The Zincs

I want to find more. :(

strange that people don't talk of a popular band like

-The Vines (highly evolved LP 2002 in priority)
-The Soundrack of our Lives (Behind the Music LP 2002 and they are probably the main Oasis influence at the moment)

-The Bees (Free the Bees LP 2004) good british pop rock resurecting directly from the late 60' swinging london and a little weirdo

there are many others psych. actual artists that i can't remember right now

the flaming lips of course. And Acid Mothers Temple (probably the most psychedelic of all music), the Beta Band, Olivia Tremor Control, Primal Scream, The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Yeah the Primal Scream are trippy too...
It's impossible to find the Brian Jonestown Massacre out here...a friend told me that they were a sort of Psychedelic Dandy Warhols!

I've hear people talk about the Olivia Tremor Control...it's a strange band from the middle 90's.

The Acid Mothers Temple are Japanese...real mushroom eaters

and the Beta Band yeahhh i definitly forgot them, i like their 3 first EP's and the two last album ...

I will put another band in the list , near of The Brian Jonestown Massacre style

-The Warlocks are really essential trippers (the leader was in the Brian Jonestown Massacre)

Damn... it appears that they don't allow downloads of single tracks anymore, but instead yo have to DL the entire album as a .zip file... that'd take forever! :(

I'm checking out Acid Mothers Temple right now... thanks! :)

OK :). You might also want to check out Kula Shaker, another great britpop/psychedelic band, heavily influenced by the sixties, the beatles and indian music (sitars, ...).

lots of good stuff already mentioned there

for me some of the best modern psychedelia is being produced by the current new underground folk scene in Finland by the likes of
    Kemialliset Ystävät
    Avarus
    Islaja
    Lau Nau
    Kuupuu
    Aekie
    Anaksimandros
    Eloine
    Es
    Keijo
    Päivänsäde
    Uton
    Vapaa
    Ville Moskitto

also worth checking are some of their North American and British counterparts such as

The Jewelled Antler Collective (Birdtree, Ivytree, Skygreen Leopards, Child Readers, Buried Civilizations, Franciscan Hobbies, Hala Strana and others)
    Hush Arbors
    Golden Oaks
    Juniper Meadows
    Fursaxa
    Davenport
    Broken Blackbird Ensemble
    Xenis Emputae Travelling Band

Australia's Musicyourmindwillloveyou collective have released some of the best psychedelic albums IMHO in 2004 and 2005 by acts such as
    Brothers of The Occult Sisterhood
    Terracid

Colour Haze is one of my favourites at the moment, it's heavy psych and has a lot of krautrock influences.

ive been listening to a lot of electronic music that, when under the influence of psychedelics, morphs into colors and shapes. the sounds smash into your brain and swirl about in a beautiful vortex of amazing patterns and impossible colors.

    afx
    aphex twin
    squarepusher
    beefcake
    orphan
    telephone jim jesus

    lots more....

Yeah i remember them ...it was one of the leader of the Britpop movement & their first album " K " was n 1 in England for a few weeks...
I was a fan at that time...but for people who is interessed in , i recommend them their 2nd and last album.
Their second album "Peasants , Pigs, And Astronauts" (1999) is more mature and sophisticated.

Somebody talk about the Secret Machines...yeahhh their are definitly Progressive rock ultimate band....a sort of Muse in much much better
