So is there anyone into the Tarot and the Qabala as a spiritual path? Anyone into the Golden Dawn, OTO, or any of those kind of groups? The title of my post refers to a tremendous book by Lon Milo Duquette, if anyone's interested.
I studied plenty of this and can guide you a bit. It's not my path anymore though. It's very hard to separate the true aspirants from the cultish.
I use the tarot, only for myself, and it consistently tells me true. It doesn't matter what my query is (so I quit asking), it tells me what I need to know. Of course, it is only my inner self talking to my outer self, sort of a way for me to accept my premonitions. I have studied various sources of mysticism and "secret societies", and ended up with my own "truth" in the end, which has left me satisfied and with a focus on the direction to follow with my soul's development. The wierdest (or not) thing about all this, is it started out in a regular "Christian" church!
Why not get into all of them at once, and get what's useful for you? The Tarot in its own freaky way is fascinating, but it's just an adjunct for your personally evolving metaphysics. The arcana are a series of resonant image-energies that may hook up with our inner archetypal symbolism to direct our actions...but that's a theory I could write a book about. Actually, Yeats and the Golden Dawn explored the whole mystical symbol thing, and Yeats in particular carried out some interesting experiments. It's all worth checking out..... Now that Madonna is talking Kabbalah, you'll be hearing a lot about it in the media. I find that system a bit too abstruse and mystical, but that's just my take.
