how big can each bag be? i'm taking a two week trip to canada and i'm flying to buffalo and bussing to toronto, so i want to take two carry-on bags, to avoid luggage bins and the possibility of losing any. hopefully i can fit all the essentials in the two bags. i might have to buy a bigger purse. haha... fit more stuff in there.
it was about $150 cheaper to do the fly then bus thing... will take a little longer, but bus trips there are normally only 3 hrs from buffalo, so not too bad really
It may depend on the airline. I checked once and I think it was....a bag about the size of a standard duffle bag...one that will fit in the overhead compartment. Then you can also take a purse...but I figured a backpack could count as your purse. I think most airline websites would list the specifics of it.
A large back pack will work. I carried an old army duffle bag on, but it was SWA. I'm pretty sure I'm suppose to check those now. Oh and another thing, if you buy your ticket online, be prepared to be searched. Homeland security at work. My wife and I got searched everytime we flew from here to Dallas. Check and double check that you don't have anything in your bag that would get you in trouble. Think like a terroist. What could you carry on that would be a weapon (reasonable). Anything metal, toenail clippers, scissors, etc. Heck I'd be weary of underwire bras. Just think safe so that way if they do pull you aside, you won't have any dirty old men oogling your girlie wear. If you have extra cash buy your bathroom stuff in Canada, or you could even go as far as sending it to Dangermoose before you leave.
I hope you have good luck fitting everything in! I'm fitting a summer's worth of supplies into one suitcase and two backpacks!
charles did tell me about the rain... i'm thinking about layering up a lot for the trip... like... a lot of my clothes on my body so i don't have to pack so much. lol thanks john for the advice! really great stuff... i did buy my ticket online, so i'll be sure and be prepared. ... lol lynsey aaaand.... yes. packing is going to be difficult since i have two finals and am still working until the night before i leave... i'm soooo nervous. i had a dream about it, that i drove to buffalo and forgot my birth certificate and my cell phone charger and my phone kept dying, and couldn't get a hold of charles when i got there, and there were lots of weird ppl at the bus station and i had to get searched and my car was a huge mess so i had to hide all my stuff so that nobody would be tempted to break into my car and had to find somewhere to park it for two weeks.. lol. it was a weird dream... but it does show how nervous i am.... *sigh* i feel better.
i don't know..but usally just one is allowd and backpack size is nice..you dont' want to be one of those annoying fucks with a lot of shit taking up all the space
woah! what are you taking? i'm trying to figure out what the essentials are... do i really need underwear?.... lol, and what in the hell am i going to do with my hair while i'm up there?? i guess buying toiletries up there would be a great idea.... much less to pack.
no don't buy things you have already....just take what you need now other wise you will have to buy extra baggage.
i get hammered starting early in the morning when i see ryan and then on the way home again too. it helps with the nerves from traveling and those little bottles of rum are so cute. have fun
hah. yeah that'll be me... i usually just take a backpack on the plane with me, but i reeeeaaaaly don't want to worry about waiting for luggage and i don't trust buses to get my stuff there.. i've had stuff lost for a week or more on both planes and buses...
thanks i dont know about drinking.. i want to be prepared when i'm checking in and changing flights later on... i think i'm more nervous about the border checkpoint as far as the traveling, but waay nervous about meeting his friends and family. i've had bad experiences in the past (well, only one really, but it was important...and my first real bf, kinda traumatized me with parents and family and all that)
