Any fans of his books? What are your favorites?

I personally love him, he's one of the best suspense authors ever in my opinion... his books are classics. I haven't read that many yet actually, but I plan to read more, I just love his style. Last one I read was The Tommyknockers, and I loved it.

Stephen King is my favourite writer, i think.

I just finished Bag of Bones the other day, and I absolutely loved it. my favourite so far.

I also love 'Insomniac' and I'm crazy about the 'Dark Tower' series. Great, great stuff.

    :D

I've read almost every novel he's written. . so now I'm working on collections. .

I'm reading "Four Past Midnight" right now. . and re-reading "The Langoliers" It's been sooooo long. .

I love SK. . my favorites are (of course) "The Stand" and "It" . . I have a thing for crazy-long novels that give me every little bit of detail about a town/crime/lives of the characters.

    They're just sooo complete. .

    Smoochies!

    Jacob.

Personally, I think the man can't finish a book to save his life. He creates great characters, puts them in a marvellous setting, builds your tension with a fairly gripping story, but then ends it in what always seems like a rushed final few pages.

Nowadays I can't even be bothered getting into one of his books, believing I'll just be let down in the end. A friend of mine has read everything of King and Bachman, she agrees there aint many endings that match the build-up.

Delorus Clayborne (SP?) was a great one, as well as IT, and The Green Mile.

Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite..."novelettes" he has written.

Rose Madder is the best novel, followed by the Dark Tower series, in my opinion.

I started reading It when I was 13 and have never finished, heh. I keep starting over at the beginning and then losing interest. And it's not the really sort of book you can put down for a week and start reading again right where you left off.

SK is great. Who cares what his critics say; the man can sure keep you entertained.

I love Stephen King and have read all of his books. My favorites are The Stand and The Green Mile, although I've enjoyed all of them.

Peach, the Richard Bachman books are written by King. That is a pen name he used before, and I've loved his Bachman books as well.

My wife found it amusing that I really don't like horror, and after each Stephen King novel I would rant about what a sick, mentally screwed up individual he is for writing such crap. I'd read another one and really vent about it. Then another, after which I would give it the usual "it sucked" review. Pet Semetary was particularly sicko and mean-spirited. After a dozen or so King books, all of which I complained about, I finally managed to admit that I like his work.

He could do other topics much better, I think, but I don't blame him for sticking with what reliably pays his bills and funds the charities he likes.

I really need to track down his tutorial "On Writing," as it sounds like it would be good for learning a few writing skills.

My favorite King books are Geralds Game and The Shining. I don't know why I liked Geralds game...I kept telling myself that it was a boring book but I still couldn't put it down, I read it in about 3 days.

I just watched the Shining movie yesterday, starring jack nicholson, it was my first time seeing it and i must say it was pretty cool.

Has anyone read Danse Macabre? It's not a novel, more a documentary, but I think it's really good
