    Hey,
I just started sewing a few days ago myself and I made a purse from an old pair of jeans that don't fit anymore. The purse has flowers on it from other fabric that I sewed on, it really cute and small for my first thing I ever sewed. But now I have a question, any guidence on what to start sewing on next? I really want to sew a skirt like the ones FunkyPhershMama sews everyday. You are my inspiration!! But anyway, any advice where to go next? If so its greatly appreciated. Also, how do you make skirts and all, what are the steps??

A-line skirts are really simple to make... Just make several large triangles of fabric and sew them together...

Get a pattern if it's something more complicated like a pleated skirt.
For regular straight skirts, it's really easy. I just wrap the fabric around me, mark where it overlaps, sew up that side, hem the bottom, and fold over enough at the top to put in an elastic band. Measure your waist, then cut that much elastic. Stick it through the tunnel at the top of the waist, sew the ends together, and sew the opening shut. Ta-dah!
