looking for gig mates in England

I recently moved here from the states in January....I am in desperate need of meeting people who are as obsessed with music as I am. I play drums and bass guitar, and also write a fair amount of prose and poetry. My music taste ranges from recent music like the Bees, Franz Ferdinand, the Killers, Neutral Milk Hotel, Mercury Rev, Libertines, Placebo, etc... to older stuff like Joy Divison, the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, the Sex Pistols, the Damned, The Clash, Bowie, Iggy Pop, the Stooges, etc..

I am 27-years-old, but could care less about a person's age if they are on a similar wavelength to me.

Agreed! me and my band just finished our first gigand it went really well... proper pleased!

at this hall we had just over 400 people watching not bad for first gig!

 

that sounds really cool man!!! the most my band has ever played to is like 100 people at a few underground clubs...said a few words to pete from the libertines once at one of our gigs...i nearly died lol

 

Am always looking for new mates and people to go to gigs with. I am into-numan,nin,mesh,fear factory,therapy?,floyd,slayer,amorphis,mortiis,hatebreed,crowbar,neurosis. We have a great rock nite down in canterbury where i live, and the music scene is really starting to pick up again.

 

yeah sounds like a great plan.... if we could get a few more peeps then we could start up a hipforums gigswap thing, so we go play in someone elses city then they come to you.

if you're looking for someone who's obsessed with music then i'm one... any forumer will vouch for that!
i quit university to play with my band, so we're up for doing ANY gigs.
