Like in when your looking for a car, and the dealer follows you around trying to convince you, or your at the market and the guy who owns the table never stops telling you how great an item is(some do, but not all). I found these really old cards from some casio with this weird indian print on the back of each card. Well, as I was getting out a dollar to purchase the item, they guy was like, "yeah yeah man, these are the best cards. Collectable vintage cards too..." :looks at the case for the name of the cards: "...yeah, Hamilton, yeah, these are they best cards out there today. Worth some money these things are!" I love the feeling of someone trying to get me to buy something. It's like I have one over on them or something. Like I've got the upper hand.
lol ur funnypersonally, I hate being haggled but thats prob because I'm cheap and refuse to buy things unless its absolutely nessasary and I already waited a month or two w/ it being nessasary... damn I'm cheap...
YES Backtothelab I am totally with you, I thought it was something that no one else would ever understand. When I am confronted with a salesman and his pathetic ways I say- 'bring it on baby', and I assume my postion of power. Where he is the begger and I am the king. Where my reaction, is his ruler, his conductor. Where your interest, a free offering determines that persons inner mood of failure or success. My pleasure must be because I've been on the other end and had last 3yrs of learning sales theory bullshit. When u understand your true power as the prospective buyer in this situation, U no longer feel intimidated or insulted. I enjoy viewing the cheezy cliche's and shifty ways and scrutinize the salespersons skills, because 1) I think im the best salesperson in the world 2) I pity their "I only get paid if u buy" focus and am so glad that its them and not me. And hey, its fun playing the game where ppl try to have it over u and persuade and manipulate u. U can play dumb, play angry man, or play a rich squanderer-their perfect prospect. Because when the rounds over u allocate the scores and if u put in a little fakeness ur self, u can make a salesman's day a little better.
