i'm back to bother yall um... i eat alot of ice, or chew alot of ice, or crunch alot of ice (whatever ya like to call it, i like ice) and i've heard about and read about how eating ice can cause (or it means you have) an iron deficiency. so here i'm not only asking what i should do (or take) if i do have an iron deficiency. but i also would like to know what symtoms might ocur if i do have one. any responces would be greatly apreciated.
Chewing ice is very bad for your teeth. You should really try to stop this habit. I doubt its related to an iron deficiency. Symptoms of iron deficiency are very similar to symptoms of excess iron. You could take an iron supplements during your menstrual period, but outside of that, I wouldn't take one unless instructed to do so by a doctor, based on results of a blood test. Do you take a multivitamin? You can get a "womens" multivitamin that has some extra iron in it. It is probably wise for everyone to a multivitamin/mineral supplement.
I know chewing ice is bad for my teeth, i just can't help it. on a normal day(home;libary;work;home) i might chew 5-6 glasses of ice. on any other day though, i might chew anywhere between 6-12 glasses of ice. and once it starts getting warmer and sunnyer outside, who knows how many glasses of ice i'll end up chewing. i went searching on the internet and i found this web site with a lot of other people who chew ice ( www.icechewing.com ) i've never taken a multivitamin. i used to take flinstones vitamins when i was little. i guess that doesent count tho. if i were to take a womens multivitamin, which one would you sugest? thanks for all your help grant.
yeh i know eh but shes never taken vitimins before so its understandable she thinks this way ice=water drinkning water does not effect iron otherwise eating anything cold would by theory lead to iron defficiency iron is in many breakfast cereals these days and MEAT
and iron's in bread right. i eat a lot of bread. i was just curious because when i was in high school a teacher had said that to me and i also read somthing in the paper about it too.
i always heard the saying that if people like to chew on ice alot in means they are sexually frustrated.
i went to this concert where they have ice-cones.... they were SO NICE! Sugary, icy goodness!!!.... bit off the topic but not completly detached!!
Look I work in a hospital, and sometimes the patients aren't alowed to eat or drink anything but ice chips. We haven't gotten a lawsuit yet on the issue.
My friend chews ice because she cannot stop eating (some eating disorder) and so that she doesnt eat to much she eats ice, so she is getting water which will help her lose weight. Its not serious yet...
i tried ti make sugar ice once, but i think i used too much sugar cause the ice came out all mushed. i love icey pops though, and frozen drinks.
