i can't believe it, really, but my body tells me it's so! i'm not allergic to anything, that i know of...but when i eat COOKED spinach, my teeth feel really dry, like the enamel is worn off...i reckon this is actually a coating that the spinach puts on my teeth. my throat feels a bit scratchy then, and my lips sting. if i brush my teeth after, i feel much better, but it's difficult to eat an ordinary spinach meal, and i just love spinach. oh, i only buy organic, and do wash it thoroughly. any clues?
that is new to me... is it only cooked spinach that does this to you? It sucks having to give up a food you like. I had to give up shell fish because of allergies. Man what I wouldn't do to be able to eat some crab, ohh and lobster and yummy jumbo shrimp...damn it
it's well-known that cooked spinach causes a kind of plaque on your teeth, known as having "spinach teeth"... i think that everyone gets it. i have information on it in a book around here somewhere but i can't find it at the moment. in any case, i doubt that you have an allergy; maybe you're confusing it with this peculiarity. check out http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/aug2000/967003807.Bt.r.html . mm... i love spinach, too. peace, sophia
wow, nitemare, thanks for going out of your way like that! i found that very interesting and will test this mans hypothesis! you give these forums a good name...
no worries now you can go eat your spinach and grow up big and strong like popeye.. speaking of which, i once heard that all that spinach eating and pipe smoking in the popeye cartoons was a big metaphor for pot. gadzooks!
