I have heavenly blue seeds but i'm confused with all the steps on erowid.com about all the extractions b/c i can't get pet ether so what's a good simple way to consume these seeds and yet still trip?
on erowid they give you information about a water extraction if it's impossible to obtain petroleum ether. no offense, but i suggest that if you can't understand the steps laid out on that site, you don't attempt to consume them at all.
quick soak: clean seeds well, grind & soak 'em in distilled water for at least 1/2 hour, cold & dark, mmkay? (you could even grind them in the blender with the water), filter out solids & drink liquid... & here's a "chaw" recipe: wash nice fresh seeds well (maybe even scrub them with a toothbrush, or a little tiny bit of dishwashing liquid, or some of that "fit" (brand name) vegetable rinsing spray) & rinse very well (final 3 rinses in distilled water) & allow to dry... grind the dry cleaned MG seeds in a blender until a mealy consistency (you can shake through a coarse filter & put larger chunks back in for more grinding) & keep the powder in an airtight opaque container in the fridge or freezer until you're ready... & then take a teaspoonful or so & put it like a chaw or quid in you mouth between cheek & gum (or sublingual) for 10 - 15 minutes (until taste is gone ) & then spit out the cud, & repeat with a fresh spoonful of seed powder until the world begins to exhibit unmistakable signs of dimension shifting & fractal blossoming & vibratory thusness... got it?
Yeah, but take note that we're talking about the seeds here. I'm not sure if the plant itself actually contains any LSA. But has anyone ever found the water extraction successful? I usually just grind up my seeds and eat everything. I've done a lot of chemical extractions with different substances and for some reason using water to extract LSA just doesn't seem like it would be too effective... But that's just my mentality.
the water extraction does indeed work... but it does only dissolve certain alkaloids --- the lysergic acid amide (LA-111) & related chems go into the water, but others don't... and, while the trip may be less nauseous, it is also less ummmm "intense" or "colorful"... and the seeds lose viability and alkaloid strength upon extended storage (so ---> fresh is better) and there may be a dozen of so species within genus Ipomea (and scores of "varieties") but it is mostly I. tricolor (= I. violacea) that has the interesting alkaloids... the leaves have some ergoline alkaloids, but generally less than 10% per dry weight as do the seeds... and many plants seems to have something in the leaves that can give you a rash... and the roots often have a powerful purgative in them... gee, there just might be some info in the morning glory info vault over at www.erowid.org ya just never know ("just say know")
