I would highly recommend that you use Ares before you use Kazaa. The reason being there are so many fake files among the Fast Track network that it is ridiculous. However if you do decide to stick with Kazaa don't spend $30 on a file sharing program. That kind of defeats the purpose of file sharing. Just grab a copy of Kazaa Lite Resurrection, which is free. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=kazaa+lite+resurrection&spell=1. This is a hacked client which is a replacement for the previous hacked clients Kazaa Lite and Kazaa Lite K++ and contains no spyware. There are also several nice features in KLR that aren't contained in the original version.

Limewire runs off of JAVA which is pretty resource intensive. Upgrading your RAM should solve the issue of your system running slow while using this program. Take a look at how much your of your system resources are being used while using this program. I remember using Azureus (sp), and it always bogged down my system. Switching to BitTornado freed my computer to run much more efficiently.
