I'm not good at this so I'll just say it. We are almost broke. We just paid our bills and we have like $90 left. I've been scouting for a job since January, but there is either nothing I can do b/c of experiance, or not offered in my field of work, or something i'm even remotely qualified to do. To add insult to injury, my ISP send me a letter saying they are selling out to Earthlink, but my subscription ends TODAY. I don't have the money to pay for the renewal (I need about $100). This is a lousy time to do this to me b/c I have auctions ending TODAY, and we have our home business that needs maintaining. I don't know what to do guys. We don't even have enough to pay for our electric and water bills. Did we spend our money? Only on bills. We went on food stamps shortly after I lost my job. That was something I would never have thought about doing, but I did. My wife and I havn't really bought anything since...well a year ago. About the time we decided to move. We got screwed on getting alot of money back from the house (bad buyers) and such, and I didn't even see me getting laid off after the holidays. I have no shame to hide behind. I take responsiblity for my spending actions over the past 10 years... they are now catching up with me.. and at an inappropriate time. I set up a donation tab on Paisleydays.com just under the hippie bus graphic on the front page. Please if any of you have a few extra coppers lying around, could I have them? I really don't have anything in return to give you, except my eternal gratitude. And for you all who have or thought of placing orders with us, we are still taking orders. There is a direct tab to my email on thefront page... just incase we go for a different ISP. I feel a little ashamed having to ask for money, I mean it was my fault that the bills where so high, it was my fault I wanted to move where I felt safer, it was my fault...just mine. I hate to see Julie cry her eyes out everynight b/c she thinks that the house and all of our possesions will be taken from us. It breaks my heart. So please if you feel inclined, you can go to our site and donate. If you know of anyone or any places looking for a computer artist that could freelance from home, let me know. If you know where I can get a grant or something I would be grateful for that too. If this is in the wrong forum I appoligize. For the first time in my life.. I don't know what to do.

Man, I work with people who can't afford a damn thing but their rent and uttilities and work all the time. If I had a job where I could actually get paid for my overtime.. I'd give you my money man. I got no woman, and certainly nothing to be proud of. But man, look at it this way, you got a girl by your side. That certainlly is rich to me. I guess money only becomes problems over times but I can believe that no one on these forums really is rich. If they are... I'd be damned surprised. We all spare what we can. Perhaps you couldn't get a job in another field. Even if it is working a physical job like I do. Fuck it, Wendy's is always hiring. Sometimes swallowing pride is a matter of living.
JackbeQuick, I have thought about fast food. though I hate FF industry, it really wouldn't be worth my time. i would spend too much money drivng and hour to and back. Gas prices are $2.25 here. If it was closer, I'd jump on it.
where do ya live man? Because I almost hardly believe that there is a town in this country without a fast food industry of some type without positional jobs available. If you live on the East Coast and off some highway.. you are bound to have some job within those bounds. But at the same time man.. I know it's hard to work.. but I've worked it. It may be disgusting and dishonorable but at the same time, it pays bills man. I don't know where you live.. give a state... and the nearest highway and I can almost give ya a highway and the exit on the east coast.
Really, gas prices are that high? I live in the richest county in america and gas prices are at 2.19 at the moment. It's sad that we can't lower those prices and we can't convert to other substantial fuels just as equivalant that are even cheaper. It'd be the downfall of Bush. Though that is not the soul reason that we can't convert... Man, you are like every small business in the country.. savering every penny and having a hard time. I must say, since I only work all day, I can finally save a penny. Must be hard with a woman at home to support. I seriously feel for ya.
Jackbequick..... I live in the desert of Texas. I drive a 1974 3/4 ton Chevy pickup that drinks $40-$60 worth of gas. I drive it, becasue that's all I can afford. Gas here ranges from $2.19-$2.28. The closest town with a fast food joint is an hour, and that's Lubbock. That is where Tx Tech is at. Those small jobs like that are taken before they hit the papers. BUT, I do appreciate everyone's support and kind words. It's better than this thread sitting here with no hits or comments.
I really wish that I could help you out, but I'm in the same situation....except that we have a baby coming in September, too. I was working, but my doc said that the job was unsafe, and that I had to quit. Now I have no extra money. We've been taken to collections now for our old cell phones (a big billing mess where they stopped sending bills, and you can't pay w/o the bill, and well, we got them all at once and now it's $2000 and we can't get away from it), and then we owe about 5 different companies about $200 each, and they're all threatening to take my bf to court at the same time. We also had to buy a new car so that I could go and get a job that was a little easier on me, but the car that we bought.....the engine seized when we were driving it home. So all of our savings is now gone, I still don't have a job, and we're just spinning further and further and further into obvlivion........the money that my bf is bringing in right now is barely even enough to pay our bills.....and you should see the place we live in. It's gross. We only have a choice to pay the bills or eat. I wisht that I could have kept my job....then we'd be WAY ahead. I just dont' know what to do. My boyfriend's mom is moving in with us just so we can afford to move out of this little one bed room apartment so our baby has some more room and can have some food. I really need to find another job, but try finding someone to hire a girl who's 6 months pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really am stuck. blah.
