Ever wondered what Jimi Hendrix's 'Manic/ Depression' would have sounded like if the term had been 'Bipolar' back then?

Take the term 'manic depression' and replace it with 'bipolar disorder' in Jimi's song. The syllable count almost works but it loses something in the translation; doesn't it?

I don't think it would work. There aren't many words that are better than manic, and biploar sure ain't one! Good point about the syllable count too.

If Pink Floyd were from the east end of London (instead of Cambridge) would they have Set the Controls for the Heart of the Currant Bun?

Syllable count? Since when did Jimi give a rat about the syllable count? ;) Example:

    Manic depression (5)
    Is touching my soul (5)
    I know what I want (5)
    but I just don’t know ...howtogoaboutgettinit. (13?!?)

Jimi, you da man. You da man. I say we make it a real challenge and change it to "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder."

Type 0 Negative did an awesome cover of Manic Depression. At least I though it fucking rocked. They added their touch to it, big time, and it really really just sounds exactly what manic depression would sound like, if it were a sound.

Really? The commercial asking for people to experiment on says it is.

They are the same thing. I have bipolar....now days. In the 80's I had Manic-depression. My illness has not changed just the name.
