Greetings Brothers and Sisters! I've been to the forum a few times, and asked a few questions--there's just some good vibe that pulls me to check out the forum a lot, even though I never post. So I got yet another question...hehe. What do you guys do at the Gathering? I'm wanting to make to one one of these days! I love reading all your posts about the Gatherings you've been too! Peace -Midget
Live a totally different lifestyle than the rest of the world. Love, share, help, barter, camp, relax, go on adventures, get worked on by a chiropracter, walk MILES every day, and mostly smile alot. Imagine if your immediate family just expanded by thousands.
Wow...so there's a pretty good vibe? Sure sounds like it. I've never really heard anyone say anything Negative about Rainbow. You guys barter stuff? Cool. How's it work in terms of food and stuff? I mean, do you each make your own meals each day or what?
food gets donated by the magic hat people donate money and kitchens cook the food usally all vegan.Things can happen negative but its generally fun, kitchens feed at main circle about twice a day they also feed out of the kitchen sometimes through out the day...It is great and I defintly grew a better person because of it
Everything at Rainbow gets done cuz people kick in and do it. Most kitchens have a base crew that know each other pretty well, but anyone can pitch in and help. Folks donate food or 'green energy' (money); folks volunteer to run banking council & supply (banking council notes are posted after each Gathering). Generally speaking, you find a place you like, find a need that you can fullfill & 'plug in'; and it's thousands of kind, loving people doing just that which creates the beautiful vibe that can be found at a Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes.
Last Nationals I got married, and that took up a lot of my time planning and preparing and we cooked and caught up with all the family we met on the road. Nationals was like family reunion to me, I got to see people I met at regionals in B.C., L.A., Arizona, Florida, Missouri, etc. It's the only place where we're all together anymore. Regionals are much more laid back, especially when they're around 150 or so people. Mostly I cook at regionals, relax in the woods, talk, etc. Trading at regionals is fun, trading at nationals is a pain in the ass cause if you aint got weed to trade, you aint getting most of the things for trade. No, that's an exageration, but my partner and I did try trading for wedding gifts for each other and it was hard because of that....but that's another thread. Generally I like the more laid-back quality of regionals. But Nationals is a good place to find brothers and sisters i havent seen in a while...
Well, some folks take "Capture the Flag" to a whole 'nother level....Others chop wood, carry water, and dig holes. The Truely Enlightened chop water, dig wood, and carry holes....
Well said, dear brother! Midget, your best bet is to check www.welcomehome.org There's other links there too, but be careful not to step into the politics trap. It's a little scary in the world of Rainbow politics................ Ah, but the Love & the Light of Rainbow is truely enlightening!
