mmm hmm...I used to like them, but I think the only way you could listen to them now is if you are high or on LOTS and LOTS of prozzak.

 

anything on the radio or MTV, it's sad, i can not watch music television or listen to the radio with out wanting to run to my room and listen to my own music.

HEY now though... The Grateful Dead, Primus, The Beatles.. all of them rock, you just have to know what you're listening to... besides Primus is bad ass in show... they have the wackiest stuff going on on stage

The Who is one of the greatest bands in rock&roll...the Beatles is good stuff too, but i like their later stuff. early beatles gets really annoying...

no this one time i was tellin a friend all the great bands that came from england, i go "the beatles, the who, the rolling stones," and comes in and says "the spice girls" oh i nearly died, i never looked in her the eye again

oh and one friend tried to tell me Hoobastank was best band in rock&roll and again i was gonna die. no really i was like who is hoobastank and she played it for me and it sucked.

In response to the guy that hates grateful dead , phish, dmb.....I can see how phish and dmb can be hated but the dead? how can you even consider yourself a hippy and hate the dead? they are the reason for the hippy movement ( I know this will cause a debate, if you disagree read up on Ken Kesey, the merry pranksters, and the grateful dead, you'll see they were the first to do it........and as far as their music ability...I very highly doubt you'll find a band composed of six members as knowledgable about music and dedicated to music as them......

 

1. It's just a fun topic; you know what's irony? A hippy judging others and looking down at them. That's irony.

2. So I have to love Grateful Dead in order to fully consider myself a hippy? Oh please. Gimme a bleedin break. I don't follow stereotypes. In my eyes I have the spirit and the values a hippy represents and that's enough for me.

You know what else is irony? A "hippy" like yourself creating a status quo.

No offense but you've sort of become a contradiction into your own self wouldn't you say?

You preach to others and you tell others what a hippy should like and dislike yet you've judged, condescend, and worse, set a status individualizing people, something hippies are supposed to be against.

WTF? Someone put The Beatles? You gotta be kidding me! No Rolling Stones either? I gotta say I disagree with those two.

 

i nominate the bands that Canada calls their own, Nickelback, Default, Sum41, they all blow ass. Each of their songs all sound like their first hits.

and whoever nominated the Beatles needs a kick in the balls. I am hesitatingly going to admit that yes SOME (a small, vial amout) of their early stuff can be moderately irritating after repeated play, but everything from 67 on is pure magic. The Beatles are it in my book!!

I look at bands today and they make me really sad, they have all this power to produce music and lyrics that could open people's eyes, and make a difference and they're singing about "another loser anthem?" what the hell does that even mean? Good Charlotte blows. If you want to hear real punk, you have to go underground. That's where the good stuff is. I nominate Alexisonfire, and Shotgun Rules for that.

As for my most hated....I'll go with Limp Bizkit for SURE, Metallica, Avril Lavigne (punk rock WHAT??? ) ICP...good god i hate ICP! Staind sucks ass too. That damn cry baby.

 

Well, I love The Beatles and The Grateful Dead. But look at my age, I can't help it.


But I would rather not hear U2 or, especially, The Police.

 

i pretty much stopped listening to modern music when the corp. idiot claimed "rock was dead" (about the time grunge wound down.. I believe 1996) I now have discovered older rock and psychedelic rock. Way better that what top 40-lip-quivering-vocals-sound-like-your-finger-is-in-the-light-socket-mm-bop-mtv-crap is on now a days.
