Would 300 squares be enough to make a decent size quilt??

Or would 400 be better? i cant picture this in my head.

Is it going to be a square quilt? if it is, then 300 squares would make a quilt with a side of 24.5ins, and 400 squares would make a quilt with a side of 28 ins. I don't know how you'd do a rectangle.

Find out how many square feet or inches you want (length x width) If you do it in feet, multiply that by 12 (for inches) then divide by 2 (inches). That will tell you how many squares you will need for the size you want. I know you probably know that but that seems the best way to figure out what you need for the size you want to make whether its a square or rectangle.

Ack!! I was wrong inna step too!! I think you have to convert the feet to inches first then multiply those two together, then divide by two...I'm an idiot! pfft~! actually easier that way tho... I'm sorry sweety....I'm not used to working in inches and screwed up. but make the feet into inches (3ft=36inches ex.) then multiply the length and width you want it to be then divide by two. I'm so sorry. used to dealing in flooring.
