hmmm...junta and billy breathes are good to start out with, you need to get acuustomed to the stuff to appreciate the reeaaallly good stuff. billy breathes is my top 10 cds of all bands, not too shabby, if you get my drift. rift is also pretty fuckin trippy.
If you dig jam bands, you need to start downloading live sets of theirs. They are one of the most far-out things ever.
live is where you need to start. studio is beautiful.....Billy Breaths, Round Room, Junta, Rift...etc.....but their art, there passion is live music.....its perfect........some great shows: 11/27/98 11/2/98 7/11/00 7/12/00 6/26/04 8/14/04 8/15/04 6/20/04 11/30/94 7/8-9-10-12-13/03 {chula vista>gorge} 2/14/03 this is just what i can think of right off the top of my head....there are thousands more.....like the Europe runs....ohhh...so good.....any festival...cliffords ball [an amzing mikes groove at this show, the 'simple' is out of control!!], lemonwheel ['bathtub gin>rift' is one of the greatest jams ever], geat went, camp oswego, BIG CYPRESS (this is a must show, i can't believe i didn't think of it before....the second set is 7 and 1/2 hours!!! and its quantity fully matches the quality.....its so amazing....) IT['seven below>scents and subtle sounds>seven below' words can't describe it], and of course for the true fan who appreciated the emotion and shrugged off the rough parts to dig those oh, so amazing good parts, Coventry.....alot of people bash this fest, but if you forget some of the fuck ups, and listen to the phenomenol 'wolfmans', 'free', 'Split', 'ac/dc bag', and the 'DWD' just to name a few....you are hearing some amazing Phish.....but thats just me.....so get out there and start trading...there thousands of shows to choose from.....
lol we got drumminmama to admit to a "phish" she likes!!! one of my mother's day gifts was Trey 4-27-05....I'm so lucky. Billy Breathes was my first phish studio album, still a favorite.
Yeah, that's the good thing about the modern phish. They have really good equipment and the tapers are using better techniques.
