i'm hoping someone can help me............i finally finished stitchin up this rather loverly tunic i've been working on, but i want to add some contrast emboidery stuff to it.

i was thinking of chainstitching a pattern around the neckline in a bright colored thread, but since this took me so long to stitch up this tunic i don't wanna wreck it by adding the details. has anybody tried chainstitching for an embroidery look??? how does it look?????

I know the feeling. Seems like anything I make,I keep wanting to add details...but I always think about it and wonder if I will be wishing I hadn't added them.
Not sure about chainstitching patterns...good question though.

Stitching isn't that difficult, but it can be time consuming. If you are going to try it, I would suggest trying it out on an scrap or a dishtowl first.

Chainstitching is very easy once you get the hang of it.. Definatly try it on some scraps...

What kind of fabric did you use for the Tunic? If its simple and one solid color id bet the chain stitch would look great.. But if there is any patterhn to the fabric I personally would stay away from extra details.

Faerie----i used a solid cotton lawn cloth for the body and floral printed fabric for the sleeves and the neckline. it just seems like it needs a little sumthin you know? geez that was a bad comment i can't tell you how many times i've said, "it just needs a little sumthin" and i go crazy and screw up a project with too many details. i'm trying to control myself with this one.

Thanks for the advice, i will definatly practice on scraps.....can't wait to show you all the finished product....:)
