Rage: White hot, like fire. Grasping, spreading, all consuming. Devouring the pure and well-kept forest of one's inner heart and deepest desires, a hunger never satisfied.

Pain: Sharp, well aimed to injure but not kill. Striking like lightning with no warning or forethought. Biting, ripping, rending; aftershocks spread like the shudders of an earthquake.

Denial: Solid, cold, unyielding. A wall of protection built around the self, a guard against what is. Seamless despite its sometimes flawed surface, unchanging even as we grow.

Resentment: Bitter, a metallic aftertaste lingering long after its time is spent. Sickening with its repeated appearance in the face of a defeated adversary. Still prejudice and hypocritical when all else is true.

Trust: Unquestioning, unbound empathy. Understanding and a compassion shown when the depths of ability are beyond all doubt. Security, faith, no wondering nor worrying. A knowledge shared between two people who have given of each other.

Fear: Wild, fierce yet cowardly. Rising like a tidal wave, swallowing everything in its way. Rushing over these pieces of a whole, submerging all thought and all feeling beneath its uncaring wrath.

Love: Warm, soft, comforting these awkward souls. Free and pure, strongest of all but untamed and elusive. A personal sun held within the beating heart as it calls to another, wanting only to let this feeling grow.
