I cant believe someone brought up oasis. What the fuck, I can remeber in middle school that they sucked!
Tool is AMAZING!! I listened to them when i was in 8th grade, and then got out of them, citing the same reasons that many of you misgiuded folks are saying. But once I listened to them again, I really saw how much they rock, and now I enjoy them more than i did when i was younger. THe drummer is INCREDIBLE, MAynard is one of the best rock vocalists of all time, and their songs aren't like any other bands. And when you're looking for it, you can find so much in their lyrics about astrology, numerology, the fibbonacci sequence (!) (THe song lateralus's syllables follow the fibbonacci sequence...1,1,2,3,5,8,13,etc...) And alex Grey did their cover of Lateralus, which I think is the best album cover of all time. So..... if you don't like tool, then you don't know what you're missing.
You obviously have absolutely no taste in music.. 1) Who cares about morbidness, they just plain suck. 2) I have given them a chance... they just plain suck. If you like them, thats fine... but saying that Tool is a good band is no different from saying that Jim Morrison is the greatest songwriter of all-time or that Jimmy Page is the greatest guitarist of all-time: you know absolutely nothing about music.
Ok....read what you just wrote over again. Then let me know if you see another way you can structure that sentence. And I don't think that you can be one to judge who has good taste in music or not. Are you an amazing musician.....have you been listening to music for hundreds and hundreds of years....have you been following how music expands and recreates since the begining....do you have any education in music beyond the beginners course "music appreciation"? My guess is that you answerd no to all of them so you have no right to tell someone they have bad taste in music. You can say that TOOL sucks.....I think you are wrong, but I have bad taste in music. Did so... nope, no other way that I can see. In my world, yes I can be one of the ones. Not yet....someday, though. Obviously not, nobody has. Obviously not, nobody has. Obviously. You guessed wrong. Pretty much all of the other music "elitists" ( ) here will agree that I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to music... of course I don't know everything about music, but I do know that Tool is a shitty band and what it means to have "taste".
I'll agree with that. You are very knowledgable when it comes to music. I just don't agree with all of your opinions. But yes, you are definatly music literate
i dont know my fav. bands/artists etc... but tool is so up there. got lots of talent. and that is an understatement. i guess you really gotta feel a certain way in your life to GET tool apc *eh* alright
but sorry, i didnt just make this one post. im a bit drunk and lazy. haha *rolls eyes at self* at really dig tool, sometimes you gotta go deeper with tool. that's what ive realized a lot.
