knitting or crocheting (sp?)? I know that there's another thread like this somewhere, but I'm going out soon and don't really have time to look. My grandma taught me how to knit a dish cloth when I was 14, and I forgot how to knit anything. Would crocheting be easier to learn? Someone posted a link to a site that gave instructions on making a crochet bikini that I thought was beautiful.....is it fairly simple to learn or am I going to be pulling out my hair?
Both are fairly simple to learn... depending on your ability to follow instructions .. Mine personaly sucks) Learn both.. Some will say knitting is easier other crocheting.. Try them both....
my mom swears crocheting is easier than knitting....but then my sister says knitting is easier than crocheting....i've never really tried either.....but i want to learn both, so i say take faerie's advice and learn both......
I've been looking at some tutorials and stuff, and starting crocheting is easy, but it's actually going beyond making something like a scarf..... I want to learn how to make things like blankets, hats, purses, things like that. I can't even understand the granny square instructions. The biggest problem is understanding the short-hand. I understand the basics, but anything beyond that.....blah! I was reading some knitting instructions in the store the other day, and they confused me even more!
The shorthand can be different in different instructions, most of it is basically the same. There should be a key at the begining of all the instructions though. I know how to do both, but then I don't do it for a few months then forget then I have to re-learn it again.
