I had a dream that I was paralyzed, like I was trying to wake up but I couldnt breathe or move or make a sound...apparently my boyfriend realised I was struggling and shook me awake...I thought if he hadnt that I would have died ! I calmed down, and wemt back to sleep, and the same thing happened again !!!Finally I said the hell with it and just got up.I was afraid to go back to sleep...has anyone ever had this happen to them? And does anyone have a clue on what this means?it was so wierd and felt so real..I thought I was awake, but I was dreaming???
it's sleep paralysis.. very very common.. kinda like an error where you are awake but your body isn't. Some people feel it like dying.. others like they are being held down by someone or something. Or were you really, heavily phyisically struggling?
yeah,I guess my boyfriend noticed something was up with my breathing;he thought I was fighting with someone...why does sleep paralysis happen, and I wonder what happens if you go with it?Hey Velvet, nice to "meet"you....you seem pretty knowledgeable about this.I had not heard of it,how bizarre.Has this happened to you?
A type of sleep paralysis occurs naturally EVERY time you go to sleep to keep your body from jerking around & moving during your dream state. Although I do not believe that this is the case, being that it happened 2 times in a row. You weren't really paralized. It sounds to me like you've been wrestling with something that you've wanted to do or say but you feel that you shouldn't. It is most likely a concious issue, something recent. This could even be dealing with your significant other, maybe something you feel guilty about or possibly that you desire more freedom from responsibility. In either case, if this continues for more than a week, I recommend that you begin meditating and working with your chakras, you may have a serious energy blockage or problem. If you need any help, feel free to PM me. Take Care ^_^
velvet and kevin r right. i heard a radio program a few weeks ago about it and they were saying it is ur soul trying to leave the body. they suggested going with the flow and letting it happen. that same night it happened to me and everything they said would happen, did happen. man when i woke up i felt SO good. i wanted it to happen again. i have tried to have it reoccur but have had no luck so far. basically once it starts u will feel numb and then u will fall (not in real life but in ur dream) and then u will rise and leave ur body and go anywhere u want to go. but i suggest finding a site, if u plan on doing this, and reading up on it. good luck. and don't be affraid!
Nice meeting you too No.. didn't happen to me personally.. I first heard of it from a guy who said he had and encounter with demons while he slept, they were holding him down and everything.. he went all goth/metal from there, wearing a pentragram to keep him safe all.. but when I read about the sleep paralysis thing a while later it all added up.. the problem is you shouldn't be wide awake when your body is completely asleep.. and yeah.. when you're on the verge of sleeping your muscles start to tense and relax which results in small and sometimes major jerking of the body. You had probably a combination of that.. nothing to be scared of. I had something similar once, though I wouldn't call it complete sleep paralysis. It was more that I woke up from a nightmare and didn't want to fall back to sleep right away but I couldn't manage to become fully awake.. like something kept pulling me back. Felt scary, not being in control.. but ah well.. was probably just very very tired I guess. So.. just read up on it.. google it and you'll find lots of stuff.. but stay openminded incase it's something else (like breathing problems or a 'common' nightmare etc). Goodluck!
thanks you guys, you have helped alot,I got a little insight even,so I am glad you all were there for me!Namaste, audreyanne
