They tried to recreate the concert in '94, I believe. But the true thing was just those three days in 1969. You could always watch the movie...
owners of the name "Woodstock Music and Arts Fair" or whatever have allowed 3. one in 1969, one in 1994 and one in 1999. I heard rumor of 2004 event but I dont remember it ever happening. I went to none of them so that is the end of my knowledge.
Woodstock enterprises (the group that put it together, with the original intention of using it as a fundraiser/publicity for a recording studio they were trying to set up in Woodstock) may still exist but im not sure
that would be awsome if they did another one. But there are like festivals that are every year that are pretty cool. go to boneroo
Bonnaroo is the modern annual thing as well as the N.O. jazz fest. Yes, 69,94,99, I don't think there was one in 2004 as the bastards who bought the land are commercial fuckbags who won't let anyone pay tribute to the land.
'roo is stationary. It doesn't travel. And yes, the other people were correct. The only Woodstocks we've had here are in '69, '94, and '99. I've heard that almost every year they have one in Europe though... Not sure.
Oh damn. Mabey I'll go to Europe then in that case... if I ever get the money. Which is more than likely never.
Fuck what they did to WoodStock, They totally commercialized it and turned it into this big trendy novelty, half the brainless drones that were there didn't even understand why. Most of the bands that played were horrible, and women who went were in danger of being raped or badly hurt, not to mention the prices on water and food inside. If they try to get another one going, I hope people come out to protest.
Ya, I agree, I don't think it was as great as people always talk about. As it said in Shakey, "Woodstock was just the first time the middle class got hip to the whole rock scene." And as Neil Young said, when asked what effect woodstock had on music, "That's when the market got big enought for the marketers to realize that they should go for it. They could isolate this whole group of people, target them, as a consumer group - and they did. They used the music. That was the beginning of rock and roll being used in commercials. That's the long term effect."
