I just recently started writing poetry, I was mostly short stories before that... I'm not really sure what I want to showcase but I guess this'll do... Symbol of the Unknown In the dark and cold I follow the torch In the never ending night I chase after the flame But why? Is it for the warmth? To nourish me on the cold winter nights Keeping me from freezing Is it for the light? To separate the darkness Revealing a brighter reality Is it for the beauty? To mesmerize me Taking complete control Is it for the wonder? The impossible riddle Sharpening my mind Is it for the excitement? To feed my passion Making fantasy real Is it for the burn? For the flame to engulf me Me rising as a phoenix from the ashes I chase this flame but I don't know why I follow this symbol but I don't know what it means I know the name but not the definition Love
