Ok lets start off that I hate my job...that I have worked six days in a row and im a cashier...so i stand in one area all day. But thats besides the point I suppose. About 2 weeks ago I missed work cuz i Get bad period cramps..my dumb boss said "what again?"....what a jerk. Anyway the last couple days I have experienced really bad pain when I pee and when im at work and have to pee like more than once an hour sometimes(which is bad cuz i have to have someone watch the reg. for me). I have had a bladder infection like 2 times within the last year..so I am like 100% sure this is what it is. I am not on my period but I am getting cramps and bad back pain...and my mom worried me cuz she said i could get a kidney infection....:O. I couldnt get into the doc until tomorrow but I also have to work after and feel real crappy...besides it will be my 7th freaking day in a row...I want to call in sick but am not sure if a bladder infection is a good enough reason and im a little embarrassed
Back pain can be due to the kindeys getting involved in a urinary tract infection. Theses can be very painful. You NEED to see a doctor and have this treated, as left alone you may damage your urinary tract. I don't see the merit in working while you are ill. You need a lot of fluid (no caffeine, if possible) with cranberry juice (it helps bacteria not stick to your bladder, but really does nothing for the kidneys and will not CURE a UTI, but can help it from getting worse in the bladder) and a test at the doctor's to see what antibiotic to use. The hell with your boss, you are in pain and too sick to work, Stay home.
as my mother always says sick = sick.. So stay home and go see a doctor.. I had a blatter infection once.. Oh my god, that hurts like hell and you have to go pee every 5 seconds, I can't see how you could get any work done feeling like that.
We found out that my fiance had a "massive" urinary tract infection on Friday. He had no signs or symptoms until it hit him. It was like someone flipped a switch! We took a nap friday afternoon. We were going out to eat with a friend at 8 so he took a shower at about 7:15, when he got out he said his side hurt. By 7:45 it hurt him worse, then we went out to eat. We came home about 9 and it still hurt. Ten minutes later he threw up all his dinner. He said, "All I want to do is lay down" so I knew it hurt him. By 9:45 it hurt bad enough that he said he wanted to go to the ER. I thought it was a kidney stone or his appendix. I knew that it was hurting him really bad though, for him to want to go to ER, especially because he doesn't have insurance and he never wants to go to the doctor because of the cost. We got to the ER at 10 and he was doubled over almost crying, he kept telling me, "cut it out of me, cut it out of me" thinking it was a kidney stone or his appendix. The ER was full and we had to wait for an hour. I went to go get him some water and when I came back he was gone, I thought he was puking in the bathroom again. Finally I got up and asked the HUC at the window if they had taken him to triage and they had... but it really pissed me off because I work there and the dude knew me and he knew I wanted to go in with Jon. So finally 20 minutes later-- after he said, "I'm busy, I have to enter these orders in the computer" which he didn't, I watched, he was eating pizza hut-- (he was really being an ass) he finally let me go back in with Jon. They had finally given Jon 2 shots of morphine but it had no effect at all. Then they took him to radiology to get a CT done, to see if they could find a stone. They brought him back and ruled out that it was a stone, and still thought it was his appendix. Finally his urine results came back and the doctor said he had a "massive" UTI and that they had never seen one just "happen" like that. He was still in so much pain that they ended up giving him 3 more shots, demerol this time. Finally he just fell asleep. The poor guy threw up like 3 more times in the ER. We were in the ER for 5 hours! We didn't go home until 5 am! Jon still could not keep down anything for a day and a half. I tried to keep him hydrated by making him take sips of water, juice, broth, etc every ten minutes. They gave him Cipro and lortab for home. I still don't quite understand though, he had been on penicillin for a week before hand, for tonsillitis. I guess it wasn't good enough. Then he was supposed to go to the urologist Monday morning, per the instructions given by the er doc. Well, when he called, of course "Dr. Mcdonald is out of the office this week" and no one else in the office could see him until at least thursday. That made me mad. Oh, and then his boss changed his work schedule without letting him know. So, we got home a little after 5 saturday morning. then his boss calls at 9 bitching him out because he wasn't there to open Subway. He didn't even know he had to work. We were supposed to go to my grandmas for Mothers day on Saturday, then to my moms sunday. He told her that he had just been in ER and that he couldn't work because he's sick. She's like, "Well I have someone there now, but you have to work tonight, you have 5 hours" I called her up and told her there was no way he was going to work that day or the next day. He was still puking his guts out and in severe pain. What was he supposed to say, "Welcome to Subway, I'll make you a sandwich but first let me go puke?" All she rudely had to say was, "well he better call and find someone else to work for him then" Excuse me!!! He's hugging the toilet, trying to keep down lortab and cipro, and he's supposed to be calling people?? I told her she's the manager, she's at work, she can do her job and find someone. Ok, sorry, my ranting and raving is over!!!
