He's the 2000 version of Daryl Somers... In fact I don't even think he is that talented. I reckon other people write most of his jokes for the Rove show hence why you never see him to any kind of solo or stand up shows. What is it about this guy that makes him so popular in Aussie tv?

I agree, i have no idea why he is so popular. But I usually watch Rove mostly because there's nothing else on, and it is an entertaining show. It'd be cool if he was a better comedian, because then i'd actually call rove live a good show.
and what's with the john campbell/rove love fest? Rove dares campbell to say 'whaka' on NZ national tv, campbell does so, and that starts a love snowball...
he's like that little smartass kid in primary school who was a total smartass and really tiny but was insanely popular and no-one would deck him coz he was cool but no-one knew why he was cool he just was cool before there was a cool so people dont question popularity.. ...rove doesnt make me laugh
