Lately, my head has been really hurting. I have never been one to suffer with headaches like this before. I find myself taking asprins everyday, and that's not good!! Can stress give you REALLY BAD headaches?

Also, I have TMJ. I have had it for a while (almost a year). Can TMJ make your entire head ache all day long? HELP!

well i'm going to go see a dentist so he can make me a mouth guard to keep me from grinding my teeth. If that doesn't help then I'll start to worry!

I forget what TMJ stands for...but there's some little joint in your mouth that can really screw things up if it's not working right.

Do you drink a lot of milk?

I used to get horrible migraines and did some research and found a lot of people were getting them from milk.. so I switched to soy milk and voila! Headaches gone! I still get a migraine from time to time now, but they've pretty much disappeared.. and I really just enjoy soy milk better now anyway than regular milk. Dairy really isn't that healthy anyway... but I'm thinking your headaches could be caused by the tmj .... just a heads up.. maybe switch to soy!

    drink more water
stay away from chocolate, tea and coffee and caffeine in general
a friend of mine used to get some really stinkers of headaches/migraines
i told him repeatedly for him to try not drinking any coffee
he cut down to 1 cup a day but no joy
when he finally did cut out coffee his migraines went from 2-3 a week to one every 2-3 weeks then he didn't mention them much.
on the other hand it could be something more serious and if you can get an mri scan/ see a doctor it would definitely be worth your while.
if you wear glasses you might check that your prescription is good for you.
i've heard that chiropractors can sort out migraines etc

yeah, i've heard the same about chiropractors... and dentists, too! I had a dentist's appt. last tuesday, but it was at 8 a.m. and I did not wake up..... I felt so sad :( :(

The milk thing is something I hadn't considered. But dairy is bad for you.... I've heard a very well-known registered dietician say that there is no reason for a person to consume dairy EVER and everyone would be better off to cut it 100% out of their diets.

I enjoy soy milk as well... but it really is expensive compared to regular milk. When I was doing the low-carb thing, I drank soy milk. It's pretty good!

Moonjava, I have chronic intractable migraines, so I know what you are going through. (And I haven't touched dairy in 15 years.) Chiropractic was useless for me, as was about everything else. A good neurologist or pain specialist, at a University Hospital is your best choice. IMO, community hospital doctors know little to nothing about PAIN!

I've been on 55 different meds, homeopathy, herbs, biofeedback, faith healing, flower whatevers, accupuncture ect to no help, BUT the Neurologist I have has helped me find a regimine which works for me, for now.

See a GOOD doctor, who specializes in Neurology and Pain. You don't HAVE to be in pain all the time. There is treatment.

Good luck. You can PM me, if you like (tomorrow will be really nuts, as have a breastfeeding class to teach, and one of my kids has to go to a thing, but if you PM me, I'll be able to get back to you by Friday.)

    i drink goats milk now
the supermarkets over here sell it and its become quite mainstream
as for the soy milk- used to drink it but it seemed to make my mouth and body feel dehydrated and make my breath stink-after a while i just moved on to something that seemed more palatable.
