so whats up with these festival ticket prices,, never mind the festivals,, look at the individual shows,, 140 bucks a ticket for panic ,, etc..

while truly kind folks like willy throw a show for 40 bucks..

    i dont get it man..

hell even if panic throwed in a 12 hour trip for the ticket price still wouldnt be worth it..

has society become so sheepish that they follow shows at 150 bucks a ticket? fine ya do the parkin lot.. an make your money off the marks,, but what are you supporting?

a buncha gettin rich ass sell outs...

so go see some other bands that isn't all about the cash.

Although, I think you people expect a lot. This is what those people do for a living. And no one thinks about just how much it takes to put on of those on.

If there really is a show going for 175.00 and it's only 1 band playing- yes that's ridiculous. Go see someone else.

But to have extra security (yes, security. in the past 4 years they have added extra safety terrorism measures everywhere including creating more security guards for big events) permits, people who pick up all our trash, paying the band, ect... it can get really expensive. I try not to bitch.

It's because of Ticketbastard. It really sucks that ticket prices have to be soo expensive. Paul McCartney is going to be in my area in the fall, but his ticket prices are outrageous. :(
Phil is going to be doing a Fall Tour and I hope that is reasonable prices. It's sad just shows that our society is turning to crap. I mean come on Min. Wage is still only $5.15. Most people don't get paid that, but we can't live off that.

you can live off of 5.15 an hour. You just don't have any money for extras. There's a difference between living and going to shows. I think this issue is being blown way out of proportion. Everyone acts as though going on tour or seeing a bunch of shows is something they are entitled to.

    what's yer complaint, hh?
High Sierra is about a buck a band as we calculate it on the next to last tier of ticket prices.
Everything cost more, including the gas to get band and gear to the next show.
    Music is a biz.
Deal with that while getting the art out of it.
I 'm OK if the band is getting paid well.

However, $78 and $58 for Motley Crap???
VAn Morrison is highest this season, but its been about a decade or longer since he was here.
Plus RR is a great spot for 9,000 to see a show. I'll pay more for smaller venues.

heyman, i agree with you about festival prices - especially like magnolia fest - but drew took me to see panic in tallahassee on the 27th of april for $29.50 a ticket and they still had tickets at the gate. that was a great show. last weekend we saw keller and a whole lot of other great, but not as well know bands at quincy, florida. it was an outdoor festival. gate prices day of show were $90: 3 days of music, no hassles, and the 2 small stages were only 3 feet off the ground. not enough of ya'll took advantage of that great venue!

could the bro have been talking about the VAn Morrison show? I think $150 for the best seats (like there is a bad seat in the house)

yeah all panic shows i know of this tour were under forty. After they sell out, of course they get that expensive because of demand.

i don't know what you're talking about. show prices are really not that out of hand. i only paid 79 dollars for my Wakarusa ticket, and that a four day festival. I say Delta Nove and The Frequinox, the other night for only 15 dollars. Phish tickets were only 35 dollars....Joshua Tree music fest was 30 dollars a day or 65 for three.....i think your all over reacting. The only time ticket prices are out of control is when they are from scalpers....and you can't balme anybody but the scalper for that.....
