I think one of my piercings is infected now, but I've never had any before (aside from super mild ones in my ears).... it's been really sore and bled a little the other day and a teensy amount of goo stuff has been coming out when I poke at it a bit :S Are there any really good ways to get rid of an infection aside from cleaning regularly as recommended by the piercer?

Every single peircing i have has been infected a few times, and i took great care of them.(i must be bad with infection eh?)My upper ear cartilage is infected now and its been a year since its healed(the only reason for that is because i got lemon juice in there, im trying the lemon juice method of tightening my dreads)

i was sad i had to take the ring out but i guess its better that it feels good now since it hurt like a muthafucker while it was in and infected, i took out my last one after two years so i could work in a hosbital and i could live without a nose ring LOL. i guess i will just let it close and get it peirced some other time

its not really an infection... but i had to take out my 10g lobes recently becuase the jewelry was too heavy and caused Keloids(lumps caused by scar tissue) on the back on my lobes.... it sucks! cuz i want my lobes to be pierced.... now my only option is to put really small jewelry in the holes.. or dermal punch the keloids out... and go with a much larger size.. which i did want in the first place anyways

My nose ring gives me problems too and i got it pierced about a year ago-it stings so much! But not all the time so I'm not taking it out. I had my wrist pierced(surface piercing) and I took it out after about 4 months cause it was rejecting and all pussy and bloody-it was sick. My tongue was infected when i first got it done but thats cause i got a bad cold right after, sometimes my ears hurt cause i stretched them to a 10 g. but thats just the way my body works!

My eyebrow used to get infected, and I would just soak it in uniodized saltwater for about 5-10 minutes and it would go away. But maybe mine wasn't as bad as you guy's piercings. I've had it pierced for 2 years now, and I've even had to repierce it before for leaving it out too long. ICK! Try putting a dull eyebrow barbell through the bottom hole. IT HURTS! But to my surprise, it doesn't get infected when I do that. hmm.... Maybe I'm just meant to have a pierced eyebrow!

I used to want to guage my ear lobes, but then I decided not to because then there would be a BIG gaping hole there.... and that would just suck.

I ocasionally had troubles with my ear piercings, but I washed the ring with calendula essens a couple of times a day, and that usually helps a lot. (the alcohohl clenses, and calendula soothes)

All piercing when they are healing get that bit of irritation and crustiness. That pus stuff is lymph which is just dead skin cells and shite; its your bodies way of healing.

Anyway, once my piercing are healed, I've only have a problem once when my nostril got snagged a bit.

Usually, if you just saline soak them regularily and keep them clean, they should heal themselves in a few days. I'd just treat it like a new piercing: dial soak, and salt soaks.

    Peace
