    OK
Well since I recently discovered that salvia is the miracle drug me and all my friends have been waiting for we are gonna buy some plants..one problem though
each of us have very little expierence with it (as in we opened a bag, put it in a bowl and smoked it) so once we buy the plants what do we do?
do we need a special bag or anything like that? how do we take care of it
and after that do we just tkae the leaves off and grind them up?
    does it bud?
    like...how do we use it?
I may sound dumb but fuck it you gotta learn somehow...
    thanks guys!

First off, I think it's a good idea to correct you: Salvia is not a miracle drug. It MAY be a miracle plant, but you shouldn't view it as a drug; it has an EXTREMELY low (if nonexistant) rate of usage as a drug that is taken just for fun or whatever.

Anyway, you can find tons of information about how to take care of your plant, how to grow it, etc. at this site:

    http://www.sagewisdom.org/usersguide.html

You can also find more information here:

    http://www.erowid.org/plants/salvia/salvia.shtml

And, I bet if you ask redgreenvines really nicely, he'll give you the URL to his website about Salvia (which I honestly don't know off the top of my head). =)

Also: You probably shouldn't "harvest" the Salvia, you should wait until the stems naturally fall off the plant, otherwise you risk harming the plant and it could go into shock and even die. This means, you will probably have a very low yield with just one or two plants, but if you're alright with that, then it's all good.

It doesn't flower (as far as I know), but the flowers aren't the part you consume anyway; the leaves are the main part with the salvinorins.

You also don't have to grind up the leaves; just dry them up and smoke them whole, or keep them hydrated and roll them into a quid, and chew them. All this information (and more) can be found on Erowid and Sage Wisdom (listed above). You can grind them if you want, but it serves no purpose unless you will be making an extract from them (which is a semi-complicated process).

Good luck, and may Mother Salvia guide you. =)

Salvia does indeed flower according to Erowid and Sagewisdom but there is no psychoactive element in the flowers. The leaves are where the magic is, so to speak. If you cultivate the plant you want to keep it in the vegetative stage because once it flowers it slows production of the salvinorin A (this is what you are after) and channels resources into the flowering process. You can revert the plant back into teh veg stage by lengthening the light cycle. This all secondhand information that I have found at various websites. I have yet to grow it myself, only because I don't know where to get a viable cutting and I have not been able to set up my greenhouse yet. Good luck. I hope this helps.
