already bad pop-"punk" (think Green Day and Jet) with horrendously bad britpop (Kaizer Chiefs, Blur). I think that's the best description I've ever read for these guys. Anyone else agree?
I love you. Controversy. It's your forte. I only wish I can be as awesome as you are, Chuck. I've never heard them. A buncha people at school listen to them...
....! Really? They're extremely popular here... I figured it was like that everywhere. Someone from this other forum told me to listen to them, because (he said) they're a good American band who don't play pop-"punk". Ironically enough, while channel surfing today I saw the video for "Mr Brightside" (first time I heard them ever), and then later (without asking for it) my dad bought the album for me, dunno why..... how weird.
perfect description...although i have never heard anything from kaizer chiefs. a girl in my class used to always sing their first popular song, man was it annoying..."somebody told me, you had a boyfriend, who looks like a girlfriend." MAN what shitty lyrics, and im not a very good judge on whats good or bad lyrics.
I've heard them all. I listen to VH1 sometimes, just to give me ideas and keep up with what modern stuff is out, but the commercialness generally leaves a bad taste in my mouth... Generally, the best scene I've been watching is the really rootsy stuff in the jam scenes. I've been wanting to get Mofro's albums, Lochloosa and Blackwater. I saw them last year while on vacation. I'd like to see Ben Harper and Robert Randolph in a concert together someday.
