So reflecting on my life, there have been a series of ups and down. This summer started out as the best summer in my entire life. I mean it was spectacular. Then suddenly, it was like everything went incredibly sour. And i mean terrible. So is it that if something good happens, then something bad is eminent?
Don't worry bout it, really. Cuz if ya worry bout it, everytime somethin good happens, you'll be thinkin "Uh oh, somethin bad is gonna happen soon." So jus savor the moment, man.
Don't worry about speculations of life. Life is for living. You will always have ups and downs. The trick is not to live in the ups but to be able to be equally happy in the downs as well. Blessings Sebbi
This is an old Chinese teaching. When the Horse Runs Off Long ago in the mountain country there lived an old farmer and his son. The boy spent his time attending to the farm work and caring for their one horse, a magnificiant stallion. After years of training, the horse was the best in the region. But one day, the father and son awoke to find it missing. The son was very upset and neighbors came to the two and felt sorry for their loss. But the farmer just looked to the surrounding high peaks and said, "We shal see. We shall see if this is good or bad." A week later the horse returned followed by a equally magnificent wild mare. This time the neighbors came and praised the man. But he only said, "Oh, of course I am happy... but who knows if this is lucky or unlucky?" And a few days later, while racing the new horse across a field the son fell off and broke both legs. The boy was treated by a doctor and was going to eventually recover but it would take a long time. The when the villagers came the father, calm as always, said, "He is alive and will heal in time. Thats all that counts. There is know telling if these injuries will be something good or bad." The very next week, a battalion of soldiers marched into the town. A war had just started and all the young men were needed immediately. With great sorrow the mothers and fathers let their sons go. But alas, there was one boy left in the village for it was obvious that he couldn't fight due to his injuries. How everyone in the village envied the farmer and his son. The farmer just looked at his two horses, then his son, then he just looked out to the jagged peaks in the distance and smiled saying nothing at all.
Great story cornball, if you have anymore please share them with us! I understand what you are saying StuntDragon. 2003-early 2004 i was extremely depressed, on lots of anti-depressants and felt worthless. In september of last year i re-started college and i was one of the most popular kids in class (never happened to me before) and i was getting good grades, i truly understood what hapiness was then. The problem now is i am ill, i have problems with my kidneys/liver/gall bladder since February. Doctors dont know what is wrong and im in immense pain, so i've had to quit going into college and have to complete my course from home over the next year. Instead of seeing my best frends everyday i will probably see them 3 times a month now...But this (as cornballs story tells) doesnt mean all is bad. I still have air flowing through my lungs and tommorow is another day! Whatever doesnt kill me, makes me stronger
You create good or bad, the world just happens. Which isnt to say human actions cant be good or bad, their just rational or irrational thus good or bad
Sebbi and Cornball make good sense, life happens, it's just what you make of it that counts. You can shake your fist at the storm clouds, but it's not going to stop the rain. Might as well find peace with it. And bluesky, keep your chin up man, I'm sure everything will work out for you DIRE STRAITS LYRICS The Bug well it's a strange old game - you learn it slow one step forward and it's back to go you're standing on the throttle you're standing on the breaks in the groove 'til you make a mistake sometimes you're the windshield sometimes you're the bug sometimes it all comes together baby sometimes you're a fool in love sometimes you're the louisville slugger sometimes you're the ball sometimes it all comes together baby sometimes you're going to lose it all you gotta know happy - you gotta know glad because you're gonna know lonely and you're gonna know bad when you're rippin' and a ridin' and you're coming on strong you start slippin' and slidin' and it all goes wrong because sometimes you're the windshield sometimes you're the bug sometimes it all comes together baby sometimes you're a fool in love sometimes you're the louisville slugger baby sometimes you're the ball sometimes it all comes together baby sometimes you're going to lose it all one day you got the glory one day you got none one day you're a diamond and then you're a stone everything can change in the blink of an eye so let the good times roll before we say goodbye, because sometimes you're the windshield sometimes you're the bug sometimes it all comes together baby sometimes you're a fool in love sometimes you're the louisville slugger baby sometimes you're the ball sometimes it all comes together baby sometimes you're going to lose it all
life is random our destiny is not pre-determaned You cant expet things to be good forever. for now anyway
i think what you say is true only because that is how you look at it. if you become attached to one experience as being "great", "bad" times are sure to follow because thats how life goes - nothing lasts forever. its like the stock market, after every boom tehre is bound to be a recession, because the only thing that can happen after activity is rest, and the only thing that can happen after life is death. the goal, i believe, is to learn to put total trust in what happens, and realize that what you think of as good times and bad times only exists in your mind. this way, when good times come, you will be able to go with the flow with out holding on, and when so called bad times arrive, you will see it as simply another situation and do what needs to be done.
Well you think about it and in a way.. a passionate YES.. and a passionate NO. Good things are inevitbale, bad things are inevitable.. it's simply just a balance, you can't go along with ALL good things, because if say- you won a car, and then, you won a table.. well, obviously the car is better, so the table would be a 'bad thing'.. I don't know what I'm trying to say..or I just can't.. basically, good AND bad things happen, it doesn't by any means mean that they are interrelated..it just means that they HAPPEN, so go with it..
