Okay my friends and I have been entertaining the idea of putting on Rocky Horror since we learned it was put on as a stage production. Recently we decided to jump in and try it. I was assigned to find information on royalties and no matter how hard I have looked I can't seem to find it. I know Fox owns the rights to the movie but it was written by O'brien as a stage play right? So that leads me to say there must be a place that owns stage rights. If anyone can find something or already knows where I might look please help. Thanx, oh and I promise a free ticket to whoever gives me the right place, not much of a motivation I know but hey worth a shot, - love torrie
Somebody help out here. THe BIG play script house, Sam ???, has the script. They SHOULD know how the royalties are paid, and may charge them upfront in the fee for the scripts.
I may be wrong, but i'm preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty sure it was never a stage production. It started as a movie, people would just jump up when it was being played and stand at the front and act ou t and say all the lines of the people while being dressed up like them. and people still do this, i know forsure it's put on like t his, but i've never heard of it beind done without the movie right behind the actors
The rocky horror picture show was put on as a stage production first... It was originally done by a bunch of freaks in a barn he he gotta love rocky... If you look around on the internet you should be able to find some info... I know did a report on it in like 7 grade so there is info out there you just have to luck for it... good luck and let us know what happends
Easy Peasy, The rights are owned by Samuel French, http://www.samuelfrench.com He deals in plays! They'll be able to tell you royalty fees and the whole bit. Yeah, It started as a stage production over in Jolly Ol' England, originally called The Rocky Horror Show (As it was not a movie, not a 'picture show' dig?) and then the stage show came here, and then it was turned into a movie and it slowly-but-surely became the audience participation hit we know today. Anyway, http://www.cosmosfactory.org should be able to help you out with any other information. Have a good day, Lindi
The Rocky Horror show was a stage proudtion, not as widely popular as the Rocky Horror Picture Show (the movie) the most popular 'casts' are those that act out the movice, in front of the movie
