That's pretty good. GEDs range from 200-800 (kind of like SATs) but passing is considered at least 410 or above on each test with an overall average of 450. In terms of class rank, it would be:

GED Score Est. Class Rank GED Score Est. Class Rank
    700 Top 1% 550 Top 25%
    670 Top 2% 530 Top 33%
    660 Top 3% 520 Top 40%
    640 Top 5% 500 Top 50%
    610 Top 10% 460 Top 55%
    580 Top 15% 450 Top 60%
    570 Top 20%

I think that chart is a bit skewed though because the highest grade is an 800, not 700.

It really won't matter once you start looking for a job; every job I've applied for has never asked to see my test results...if you have a GED, you're pretty much set for the education requirements for jobs that require it or a high school diploma. ;)

So a GED is for a high school dropout to have a certificate saying he has atleast the minimum requirments to get a job that requires a high school diploma?

In theory, yes. In practice, the two are not always viewed as equal, and some places would much rather the diploma.
