Who has heard of them? Do you like them? why? Do you hate them? why? Do you like the emo genre? Do you think MCR fits into the emo genre? DO you hate emo? why? I absolutely LOVE MCR! I myself discovered them from an ad that came up in newgrounds. i'm soooo grateful for this ad! their songs are sooo good! the composition, the lyrics, and the sex appeal for this band is overwhelming! Now i do understand there are ppl out there who hate this kind of music, this kind of band period, and thats ok! feel free to share with me your opinion on this KICK ARSE BAND! -no i wont flame you if u hate them
They suck. There was another thread on this shitty band that went on for over 100 replies, and I don't feel like getting into it again. But I just don't understand how people can listen to such horrible shit, though. God damn, they're one of the worst mainstream bands out there right now.
Well they haven't been mainstream for long...or at least i had no idea becuase im a shut in who doesnt watch t.v. or listen to the radio at all that can't ever be good whoops! i didn't kno there was already a thread. - i did go back a couple pages to see if there was one already, so it must have been a while ago - sorry
I like them. Why do I like them? Because the music sounds good to me...nothing more,nothing less. I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks.
They've been mainstream their entire existence. They were a band made for MTV... they were never independent. Independent bands would never make such shit because they obviously would be out of a job.
dont like em one bit...they sound like the same old emo shit, or whatever the hell you call it, thats been played over and over again, but with a different face. I dont mind if people listen to them...just not around me.
huh i never knew that! the things u can learn here. i honestly never heard of them until just after their second album came out. i still like them tho-but i dont really like them live - they sound like every garage band that i want to kill. Gerard can't sing. really he can't. well i guess he can kinda sing cuz the album sounds good but he's not on stage moving around and theres no synthesizer to smooth it out. But i've always liked the lyrics and tone of the music - dunno why just do
Yes they are emo, yes i hate emo, yes i hate my chemical romance. infact i remember posting the otherday "atleast The Killers arn't My Chemical Romance".i just cant stand thier music. you (marlyn) said that you dont like em live, but to me that the true test of a band...anyone can sound good with a decent tech crew recording/dubbing the album, but when you're live (actually preforming, not lip synching) and are good then you rock.
I actually got groovin' to one of MCR's songs. I dont really see them as that much of a bad band, i just see them as a band that i dont really dislike or like.
Yes! I totally agree with you! that is sooo true - but the fact is, i like there music on the CD and while they may not be a good band live - who cares? i'm never going to hear them live! Only on the CD cuz i live in a tiny hick town.

You must be on crack, because the composition of MCR songs completely suck... they do not have much change... which they might pass off as minimalism, but its nothing even close to minimalism, its simply just not knowing how to make a good song, making it easy and simple so the masses of idiots with bad taste in music will buy your cds and make millions for the record labels. The lyrics always suck, see song: "Im not okay"... how many times can you whine out Im Not Okay before people start to hate you? Yes, because they are men wearing face make up w ith expensive haircuts that their hair stylists gave them because they said if they had these haircuts they'd sell more albums and get more attention and acceptance from the idiots who watch their shitty music videos.

its more pop bullshit. i hate bands/groups that go mainstream. xzibit sucks now, d12 sucks now, g-unit still has good rap but theyve lost all their focus...so they suck.
