I've only been here a few times, but this is the first nite I've noticed commercial website plugs and ads for online cigarettes. Do the mods delete this kinda stuff? They should. This is one of the few places I can come anymore without my popup blocker turning over every 10 minutes.
If you want to make money on the web, that's fine. Start your own website. If I want to go there bad enough I'll find it. I've started up a couple myself, but I've never went to other sites and begged anyone to go there or to buy anything from me. And I won't give those adware mongers the time of day. Been a few times I've felt like rounding up customers at gunpoint down at the store, but if it takes that for someone to be my customer I really don't want to be in business.
I know I've made a couple references here about how to make money, but I've also posted quite a few about how much I don't make. I don't want to have all the money in the world, it would be nice but I think it would just create more problems than I have now. I have almost everything I need right now, what spare time I do have I spend trying to get the rest or avoid losing what I do have. Don't confuse me with advertising :)

Well this is a fairly big site, and there really isn't a rigorous screening process to begin with that I know of, and neither should there be by the way".
Every now and then a spammer or two will pop up here but they always get blocked right away and their post get delected. The mods do a good job with that kind of thing.

Thanks. In retrospect I guess I did jump the gun, just been spending too much time on ebay I guess. Like you said I didn't remember any screening for the application, and yes that's a good thing. It just disappoints me how the internet, like everything else, has evolved from a useful and practical knowledgebase vehicle to a "buy it here buy it now" bazaar.

Sorry, Bud. This being a FREE SPEACH site, they can say what they want to.
It's up to us more mature people to either Ignore them and they go away, or what I like to do. Take over the thread. And IF they are Spammers, they still go away. If they aren't they'll defend themselves in what may become a decent debate, and a new friend made.

Stuff like that happens every now and then, but as far as I've seen it's dealt with quite quickly really, I think the mods do an excellent job with that sort of thing. :D

Yep. The mods do a great job of keeping the peace. There are NO personal attacks allowed here.

I have never noticed any problems here. Like it was mentioned above, this is a free speech site and free speech means just that. However, spamming is another thing and the mods must do a good job at dealing with spammers since I have never noticed any problems in that area.
