Could the tao, being that it is all around and ever flowing and penetrating all life, basically the same thing Lucas describes in Star wars as the force? The whole star wars concept seems very tao. Dark and light sides of an all pervading force.

You are almost right - in Taoism there is no such thing as good and evil. The Dark side of the force is definately evil, the light side is definately good, as a taosist there is no such thing, yin and yang both have their purposes and neither could exist without the other.

Jedism is said to be very like Taoism though.

    Blessings

That whole prophecy never sat well with me. I asked myself: How exactly does Annikin bring balance to the force? Wasn't it already in balance?

nope, it was kinda in balance but the dark side was rising. nothing could be done to stop it, but the force could 'get a man inside' as it were. anakin ends up turning back to the light and eventually kills the dark side threat (palpatine).

if vaders place had been taken by darth maul for instance, things might have gone a lot differently. anakin had good in him, partly from his upbringing as a good natured lil slave munchkin and from his jedi training:)

Dude...didn't you watch the movies enough to see that Anakin does indeed kill Palpatine?

Even though I love Star Wars...I hope Lucas is done. There is a such thing as "beating a dead horse".

NO way, if someone made Crimson Empire a movie based on the comic book, its fuckin classic star wars. That would be a worthwhile movie, talking about the after-shadow of the Empire, and the leader who succeeded Palpatine trying to perserve the Palpatine/Vadar Emporer/Shogun legacy. Then there is a nasty character that is already trying to become a self-taught sith, being as he was the highest of his Crimson Elite Guard, taught by Vadar and with only the top 2 students learning the early stages of the dark side.
