Django Reinhardt, bloody brilliant guitarist.

 

Right on! He played with a badly deformed left hand, and he was still fab at it!
Also, Stephane Grappelli who played with Django in the Hot Club quintet. Wish I could play violin as well as that.

 

Yep, his pinkie and ring finger were curled inwards. It happened in a fire, obviously people assumed his career was over, but he got better if anything. He's a great guitarist even if you don't know his hand is deformed.

 

i haven't heard much jazz really but i like some of elvin jones' stuff

 

der...yeah...like I said the list goes on and on!! I forget so many names (I'm shitty w/remembering names too!) and the collection went westward w/ an ex bf awhile back. We had one hella collection too dern it! Glad you mentioned him so I can remember to find some more of his again. ty
