The wormwood involved in making real absinthe might be marginally toxic-- about the same as alcohol & the after-effects of a hangover. (See my other posts.) Genuine Wormwood, the drink of Impressionists such as Van Gogh, is supposedly a mild hallucinogen. I think they like to use Van Gogh as a dandy bad example, since he cut off his earlobe & gave it to a prostitute as a sign of his devotion to her-- some assume while drinking it, but there's no proof of that. He may have just been drunk & not with absinthe at all. Evidently this was the Kosher Cult drink of the time. The present-day permitted type of wormwood additive has limited capabilities, equivalent to smoking your hemp T-shirt if you see my point. However the real thing is still available in some places abroad. Codex (European for FDA) is cracking down & limiting controversial substances in not only nature's remedies but also the potency of vitamins. I will repost some of the alarming articles coming out of the Euro Union expressed by people concerned that CODEX will be far stricter than the USA's FDA in their stringent regulation of things like vitamins. I always like the episode of Red Dwarf where Rimmer jokes about the Marijuana Gin. It is a known fact that alcohol releases the THC resin from the plant material. This has been going on for centuries & anal people will carry on their crusades against 'every herb of the field given us for our benefit' by God Himself & People in power like the former Attorney General, Janet 'Waco' Reno, who called natural marijuana 'inferior medicine,' in a speech I heard. Inferior to what Janet? Maybe now that she's got a terminal disease & the shakes she may be willing to eat those words for some relief. After all it is a hypnotic. Reefer is a pejorative delivery system in the hearts & minds of medical science as smoking pot is recreational in appearance. So they have cooked up suppositories & wafers & Marinol & everything else but what God made to be ingested as is. I doubt if anything man synthesizes from the natural could ever contain all the balancing components of the natural herbal substances. He even put opium on Earth to relieve severe pain, and it is actually a very complex substance. Unfortunately they refine it into heroin & even more addictive substances such as morphine. But it has it's use in surgery & such. A young pharmacist recently told me there's hardly anything natural out there nowadays, it's nearly all synthetic; he was speaking of hydrocodone. The most damaging part of that is the Tylenol which is worse for your liver than the opiate. Ask for the doctor or dentist for Vicoprophen, it's opiate with Advil which is arguably better for the liver. There is nothing wrong with the South American native Indian's chewing of Coca leaves for strength in their long hikes through the mountainous terrain & its pain numbing capabilities. But when refined into Cocaine, it becomes a severely addictive substance affordable only by the rich. And when cut & diluted into crack, an even more addictive substance which is relatively cheap. So whether accepted science or underground labs, we are taking these natural highs & cures & pain relievers & making them into far more risky substances than they were ever intended to be, typically removing the complex balancing substances & distilling only those which make the high more severe & the addiction far more rapid. Oh, yes, the proper terminology for that level of stinking drunkeness is: "Totalled" (hence) a #10 on the Pukester Scale. You can also judge your level of alcahol poisoning by how many days you are sick. The three day hangover is just shy of the hospital. Milk Thistle will restore a weak liver, as it is the only organ in the human body that can regrow itself like that, so evidently the Lord knew it would be tough on us down here & that there'd also be a lot of Catholics. It's even given in cases of mushroom poisoning. But get the concentrated stuff. Herbal extract & not powder. Vitamin World, though local is good quality for cheap. Hey VC is the place, too. Talk about reasonable meds... As 14 year olds, we made it our code of honor never to mix drinks, since we had to sneak past our parents. Also Dennis, one of my buddies found out that if he made it to his bedroom & the room was spinning--if you put one leg off onto the ground, it makes it stop!

Oh, well...They must have read Brave New World & some of those writings by now, it's been almost a half century. If they can control the millk cycles of cows so that they never have to lay off & rest by giving them hyper-feed, hormones & heavy doses of antibiotics, then they get the cow to sucessfuly defy nature & overproduce. Then when the cow is so sick she can't stand any more, they grind the milk cow up for cheap beef to sell at the burger stands. If they can control what the cattle put in their bodies, they can control the cattle. If they can control what we can't put in our bodies, they will eventually control what we must put in our bodies. Who ends up with all those antibiotics, hormones & fattening-up drugs passed from those cows through the food chain? People. Maybe that's why the Americans are so bloody fat! It hasn't come to administering mind-altering drugs to us yet, but that can't be far off, since they urine & blood test people for the most menial jobs, it's ridiculous! Wasn't it Jerry Rubin, one of the original Chicago Seven that wrote that we should all send massive amounts of our urine to Washington? That would really piss them off! Trouble is--it's 10 times stricter in the private sector than for most government jobs. But the military is way over the top. I talked to a fellow who said his kid was refused because they detected advil as illegal drugs. The military is able to use radioactive technology to detect substances in the blood since they have the ability to dispose of it afterwards. There are top jobs in government (rumored FBI & CIA) that I have heard the THC level is so loose that you could smoke a joint the day before & past their drug test. That sounds like the Bush standard. Hell, he has his own economic bubble he lives inside of & never connects with the crappy economy for actual working folks, why shouldn't the government have especially lenient drug testing. If they give you a blood test for insurance, they can determine over 200 things about you, such as genetic weaknesses & proness to congenital illnesses. These are all sent to a lab & data bank in St. Louis, Missouri, US-of-A! How's that for as little PRIVACY as we can possibly have?
