anyone have any brilliant ideas for getting mud out?

I went to Haymaker this weekend and the bottom 4 inches or so of my favorite dress are covered in mud. I've rinsed it and used a stain remover a few times now and it's just not coming out! any help would be greatly appreciated...thank you!

im not sure what your dress is made of or how thick it is... but...

my mom has that dryell drycleaning kit, and the spot cleaning solution to that works wonders.. mud, blood, grass... anything! you can buy that stuff seperately in replacement kits. As long as its not super thick cordouroy id give that a shot.

I would try some laundry detergent on the stains, rub it in,and let it sit awhile...then rinse. Also some vinegar and water may help, but I'm not sure if vinegar can harm fabric...may want to try it out first on an inside hem,to make sure it's okay on that fabric.

Thank you so much for all the ideas--I'll try some when I get home. and yes phunky, I'm pretty sure it's clay to cause its virginia and we've got tons of clay. one thing I thought of if it doesn't come out is maybe I could cut of the bottom of the dress and make a ruffle for it, but I want to try to get it out first. Thanks!!
