in the 1950's the government starting putting fluorine in tap water. Interestingly enough Fluorine works as an anti LSD(coincidence, probably not). well I dont have much on this but a friend of mine is studying some analogs in the ergot family that are nearly 5 to 10 times as potent as LSD if you can believe it, and are stable in a fluorine environment. Interesting huh. supposedly very active too. i think the analogs come from ethlad or something similar

for wha? I Did not even think i would get a response. I was just tryin to stir up ideas. You mean a reference for the 1950's thing you can find lots about it if you just research a little about fluoride in tapwater and when it started

I think she means references about these new ergotolines you're discussing...;)

Flouride is added to tap water for your teeth. I am pretty confident its addition had nothing to do with LSD.

And there is nothing special about fluorine here, either. Any of the other halogens (chlorine, bromine, iodine) will destroy LSD pretty effectively, as well.

So can we get some info on these super-potent LSD analogs, then?

Flouride does breaks down lsd ver effectively!

Your friend's name isn't Shulgin, is it?
    ;)

they do not have names yet I wish my friends name was shulgin, I have met the genious before though. They say the fluoride is for your teeth but why did they wait until the 50,s to put it there. relatively close to the time LSD was found.
LIKE i said to u skeptics I may not know exactly what these chems are but like I said they would come from ethlad or prolad or one of those. I do not get in the lab much these days lack of freedom.

cool, cool. Thanks for the info, I have never trusted drinking water in Babylon. Too many hands have tampered with it. Good idea not to post too much info here anyhow. Don't mind the skeptics, brother, there's some in every crowd...ergotalines, haha

Well, they may not have "trivial" names, but they certainly have IUPAC names, which simply describe the structure. Any compound, newly discovered or not, can be assigned IUPAC nomenclature.

It had NOTHING to do with LSD, and EVERYTHING to do with aluminum.

Fluoride compounds are a byproduct of aluminum production, which kicked into high gear during WW2. Aluminum smelters used to have to dispose of the fluorides as toxic waste, at considerable expense, or sell off a small amount of it for use as a rat poison. The aluminum industry seized on early studies that showed fluoride in drinking water to be benificial for teeth, and managed to convert a toxic liability into a profitable side business, by convincing government agencies to begin putting their waste into the drinking water supply.

thats what u think I was not trying to get all serious with this man. You really need to chill out everybody takes this stuff so damn serious. If you think the thread is stupid simply dont post on it. I just thought it was a cool idea. I do not see this research happening anytime soon. Just chill out LSDTRIPP

    WHAT is "what I think"?

Well, if you just wanted to post BS, you should have done it somewhere else. You posted about new compounds in a DRUG CHEMISTRY forum, and now seem to get pissed when people ask you for scientific information. There are a few bonafide chemists and a few other scientific-minded types around here, ya know!

I don't think anybody is calling this thread "stupid". Several people (myself included) found it interesting enough to ask for further information, no?

    I didn't know I was getting heated up....

sry man im wierd did not mean to cause drama. It is interesting and thats all I know. The last time I talked to this particular friend he was fleeing, and I only see him once every now and then. He has alot more information if it comes about i will post it. I am very familiar with basic chemistry and simple extractions and what not, but when it comes to syning things I am a learner. Tis why I normally dont post too much in the chemistry category

    Haha, welcome to the hipforums.
I would advise you to keep your mouth shut if you come across any more information...or at least keep it off this area of the hip forums. It makes for a much smoother ride, ya know?

Edited after the next 2 posts:
I am very sorry to have been misunderstood. I just didn't want this guy to be put on trial here for posting in regard to what is quite possibly truth. I didn't mean to come off like I was telling him to shut up.
    ...man

whatever I am a member of several chemistry sites that are far more in depth than the hipforums. Go ahead applejack and keep on supportin. whatever you are my age and you have written 5 posts u are no better than I.

I just dont understand I had told you all that I did not have much information on the subject. I normally dont find simple drug chemistry even all that interesting, and I thought this was so I posted it. If I wanted to talk about chemistry I would be at Sythetihkal or a Lycaeum forum or something.

Just want to clear something up about Flouride, it's in water "for your teeth" however Flouride is also in toothpaste for the same "reason", but because of it being in toothpaste there is absolutelly no need for it in tap water. Infact the amount of it is excessive and it is actually unhealthy to drink Flouride. Thus; Too many greedy assholes in the world getting rich off peoples poor health and ignorance. Kapu to them!
