umm... one more thing: your animal-loving attitudes are great, really... I only think your efforts would be better directed toward the distribution of meat, rather than animal rights. When everyone has a full belly, then, we can all care about a cow's pain aye.

i must admit, i find it sad you don't care about people. you say people don't know, yet you believe you know. do you believe you are superior to others?

and again, you keep making it a "us and them" battle....things like that don't work, it is better to guide people than to fight people

oh, and as for the "you aren't the only person on this planet" bit...there are more issues at hand than animal cruelty. do you know, there is no way to dissarm a nuclear reactor? the current method consists of pouring tonnes of concrete on it, and that doesn't work. oh, and you could talk about pollution, and the fact exon is responsible for something like 10% of co2 emmisions. or the rate at which the worlds tropical rain forests are being destroyed, and these contain the huge majority of this planets species.

and that's not even touching human issues, such as aids, warfare, etc.

That's the thing. It's not about human issues first such as aids and welfare. That can wait. It's about correcting what was already wrong a long time ago. The much more simpler things. Things that came to be first. And that all ties in and revolves around what i'm trying to say. I never demanded respect because you seem to not quite comprehend what I'm trying to say and get nitpicky with the little details on the edge that don't really matter. This is exactly like in one of my other threads yesterday. I just want people to be a bit less self-conscious and more conscious of others. And the pictures do not have a damn thing to do with it, so don't get me started there. If people don't want to see them. Oh well, tough shit, nothing we're not going to see at least once in our lifetimes and i've actually seen it up close. Not everything is happy, happy, joy, joy, but i'm sure that's pretty obvious to you as it is and you'd rather talk about other issues. I know you may not eat this meat, but a lot of it comes from the rainforest which has been slash and burnt, which, of course, you probably already know. Nothing can stop the problems with emissions unless stricter laws were enforced, but it appears that not every government in this world seems to give much of a shit about it. I never was or said or ever will be superior to another person. I just think a lot of people are full of shit. That's why I don't like people and would rather be every man for himself, but, I do care for people quite a bit and know it never has, doesn't, and never will work that way. It's just the fact that people in general piss me off.

Freedom is...being able to state your beliefs....Freedom is ...choosing to eat what you want to eat...Freedom is....letting others choose their own way to live. So... Do not Tell others how they should live, eat, love, speak, dress.......you can suggest a certain way...but not demand this of others. I know. I enjoy debating, but I feel people start to drift away from the point too often, though. It starts going into a game of poking each other and taking pot shot insults at one another. ​

First of all, nobody is alike in any way so that doesn't even matter. And I never started attacking them if you go back to read the original post. Some people really don't know what freedom is, how good they have it, or how worse it could have been. You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need. You're diverting and projecting the fact that it's what everyone wants. I'm not saying stop eating meat, though that is the best thing to do in my opinion. You're just not picking up on what i'm trying to say. It's about being more conscious of what goes on and less conscious about yourselves. It isn't about the rights of others. It's about what happens to the animals before people sit their lazy asses down at the computer while eating a cheeseburger or whatever piece of living being went through hell for the short term known as "life" for it. It's the fact that most of the people here are for peace. But they care about peace for themselves. Yes, some say... well we care about animals too... Besides, it isn't about me or what people WANT. It's about what animals NEED. You have freedom. It may not be the freedom you WANT. While you sit here home free, there's a meat processing plant not so far away with beaten animals about to die because you WANT to eat your chicken sandwich. It's just fucking stupid sometimes that people should be allowed to do this. It's no worse than cannibalism except the animals can't express their feelings and they have the crap beaten out of them before they are killed. You've got your freedom.... what about theirs? It's because the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. You think your department of agriculture cares? Hell no.

Should we just let all the pigs and cows go free, stop breeding them? I don't think they'd last too long on their own. I think that would cause the local wolf population to grow big and strong and well fed, and audacious, attacking kids and then adults. Do you want to be eaten by a wolf? I sure don't. I'd rather stay on top of the food chain, thanks. Why don't you just give great white sharks the ability to walk and breathe on land? We'd all have to pack heat, and nothing good comes from a public packing heat.
And I think everyone is well aware of what goes on in a slaughterhouse. If you don't know what goes on in a house of slaughter, then something's the matter with ya, matey.
And the greatness of a country is not measured by the way it treats its animals, silly gooes: it's PEOPLE.

 

If you're attacked by a great white shark or a wolf, you're on your own buddy. Sometone might stop to help (I would), but the food chain is something you just have to deal with. Tough shit. Shark bites aren't pleasant, but I may be either crazy or stupid, but I think a shark bite is a good experience. To tell you the truth, sailfish and marlin bills hurt worse.... but the shark that had my ankle wasn't too big. Something I never knew. Sharks can sneeze. I had a blacktip laying on deck one time and it was just sitting there... I thought it was going to take hold of my foot, but it didn't. It sneezed... and everyone standing around me and all the tourists were like "holy shit"... hahahah... that was funny. I used to throw fish in the direction of tourists who would stand around... I regret it though. I know if I was a tourist, I wouldn't want a 3 foot long live bluefish thrown near me. Giant piranhas of the sea.

Its annoying just to read you guys argue over things. But anyway, the pictures did not offend me, but I cant understand why people would be so offended by them, its what happens.

From reading replies people seem to be centered on the thought that when everyone is fed and no one is starving that we can worry about the animals, but have you ever thought with all the grains and food that we have to feed the farmed animals with, that we could feed all the hungry peoples of the world.
And as americans (most of us) why would you argue about that when we have the money and the choice not to eat animals?

Im not trying to force any ideas on anyone, if you choose to eat animals its ok with me, I dont wanna debate or fight about it. Its just people seem to not realize what they are eating, and if those pictures offended anyone, then they are trying to push away the fact and deny it.

 

Simple, freedom is having a choice.

So... feed the world with cow food?
Cow food is not human food. The products in feed are... leftovers... not meant for human consumption. Sure, 'grains' sound like something we could pass around to the starving world, but these grains consist of numerous minerals, siliage, fermented fodder, cow corn, and rendered fat of that which is left over from their relatives brutal deaths, not to mention their blood... yes, that means cows are, more or less, cannibals. Cow food is for the cows, cows are human food.
Does this mean I know what freedom is?

 

You can't make me feel guilty for eating meat. And I never will. I respect your decision not to eat meat, and all I ask if for you to respect my choice to chow down on a hamburger or steak whenever the hell I please.
