Pre-flowering to early?

My plants are 51 days old today,
the problem is they are only 16 in.
tall. 2 ft. wide and fullbodied. They are
pre-flowering and I have no clue why.
I am using a hydro system and " NOTHING"
has been changed. Lights are still at 18-6
pumps are running correctly.
Anybody have any ideas?

I'm stumped :< My friends are having the same problem with their plants.

Somebody please help this guy. Somebody surely has to know the answer to this

 

I'm not sure that I detect a problem.
Most guides indicate mj plants to become "sexually mature" ay 6-8 weeks. Pre-flowers or alternating nodes are indications that they are mature and ready to flower, though you don't have to. They will continue to vegetate and grow under 16 or more hours of efficient lighting.

"16 " tall and 2' wide and full bodied" sounds perfect to me.

 

Grouchy is correct,but I have found most indica/indica dom hybrids will pre flower at 4-5 weeks while under 18/6.

 

I doubt this, but it occurs to me-

concievably, some of these indica-dom strains could habor some of those nasty ruderalis genes(?).

 

True Geck,but at 51 days I doubt it is affected by autoflowering rudy genes.51 days is quite normal for most of the hybrids of today.Billbeau,keep in mind they can double in size when put into 12/12.

 

Actually they hit a final height of 24 in.
Someone told me I might have shocked the roots
at some point while changing my chemicals.
The buds were fully formed but small. Almost like popcorn.
Pretty damn good even if I do say so myself. Taste was good too.
Note I say "was"! I've started my next grow already. They are about 2
weeks old now. I'm keeping the light raised in hopes of
drawing them up a bit this time. But not so much that it makes
the stem weak. At 2 weeks the stem is already a 1/4 in. thick.
This system grows some seriously thick stalks for some reason.
No big, I know the wont break.
Anyway, I'll keep ya posted on what happens.
