I generally find that I don't listen to nearly all modern bands cos theres nearly always a band that has already been around that has done a similar thing..........but better, so why listen to a pooer version of the same style of music. So I figured people can come on stating for example that they like 'The Coral' and somebosy else can reply and suggest say 'Captain Beefheart'. This will allow people brought up on modern pap to listen become aware of the influences of modern bands and then listen to the decent original bands that created the sound in the first place. I'll start with: Like: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Try: Jesus & Mary Chain Like: Interpol - Try: Joy Division/Camelions Like: Green Day - Try: Stiiff Little Fingers Hopefully this thread will be useful to some people and give them some ideas (me included!)
