Who here didn't grow up on Mister Rogers? Was wondering what's the word on the new DVD that previously hit stores? http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/misterrogers/1 You are never too old for Mister Rogers. Recommend it?
Mr. Rogers was not a pervert! He was so comforting to kids. I was so sad when he died. My daughter cried when I told her.
You must have been deprived. His show was up there with some of the best. Who knows what these other shows have been teaching kids?
In the late 60s, I used to sit on this little apolstered chilren's chair in our living room. I would watch the test pattern on Chicago's PBS, WTTW, waiting for Mr Roger's to come on. PBS wasn't on all day, just a few hours, and it was only black and white (was OK, we only had one TV and it was Black and White) and I would just wait for Mr. R. I loved this show. My kids did too. I remember when he came on the day after 9/11 and talked about War, and how things were reallly scary, but that we were going to be OK. And he gave an anti-war statement (which got some press coverage) to the children, something about "sometimes adults do things which aren't so smart." or something like this. Mr. R was not a pervert. He was a kind man. There were rumors about him in the 80s, but they weren't true.
i used to watch him all the time. even sometimes when i was in high school, i'd still turn on PBS and watch.
