    i've become a total pothead.

i wake up in the morning, get high, go to school, get high, eat lunch, get out of school, get high, go home, get high, take a shower, and get high one last time before repeating the process.

my friends say i've changed, but i still feel the same.

i told myself i wouldn't smoke until thursday, when finals are over. but so far i've failed 3 days in a row. i haven't even looked at my math text book in a month.

i'm going to fail my maths final, but i'll be high off my ass, so who cares?

LOL. I used to be that way when I was in highschool. I say you got an addiction, but it's your choice. Enjoy the dope while you can because it's harder to afford it when you're poor and living on your own.

see, being a pothead is fine until it interferes with real life.

You really should quit and this is coming from someone who has smoked daily for years. It's because I can quit, I can afford it, and pot never gets in the way of my job or my bills.

When you use something irresponisbly, you put a bad name on it.

Hey, man, they've got a point. When it starts to interfere with sober life, it's time to cut back just a bit. Definately don't go without it at all, but try this:

Take just one or two hits, pick up your math book, and study, then, just keep refreshing your mild high while you study. It makes studying much more interesting, and doesn't cloud your mind enough to confuse you! =)

your freinds say you changed but you feel the same.

Well this is because you're you, you can't feel you change, you have to observe yourself from outside yourself. This is hard because it means we get to admit our mistakes.

Imo the pot is only an indirect reason for why you possibly fail in your math exams. The real reason is probably that you aren't very interested in and motivated to practise your math in the first place.
If you are feeling unmotivated, than you will feel even more unmotivated after you smoked pot, if on the contrary you really want to do or learn a certain thing, than smoking pot will not stop you from doing so, but rather put you more into it and even help to concentrate.
I think that it would be good for you to work on the issue of motivating yourself for the studies instead of worrying too much about if you are smoking too much or not.
fuzzywuz made some valid points, nevertheless I would like to point out, that not every type of pot is having a sedative effect, but that it can also be activating. That depends very much on the certain strain you are smoking. :)

my friends from about 5th grade now have told me that ive changed. and suprisingly after all the shit ive been through theyre still here for me.

if your friends stop being friends with you, then they werent true to begin with.

and about being a pothead, as long as you can function and it doesnt get in the way. (even though it seems to be) then there really isnt a problem with it. just watch out, becoming a lazy stoner who does nothing at all is not cool .
