havent posted in a while...but is there anything better than a grateful dead(live) song and being drunk and stoned...peace and love
Threads like these should be banned and deleted Not that i have anything against the grateful dead or the fans, just......that at least 7 or 8 current threads all have something to do with The grateful dead, and more and more pop up every freakin day, saying the same thing..............really how much attention does one old jam band need
You do have a legitimate point, since the Grateful Dead no longer exists in its original form and there are now only a precious few never-before-released Grateful Dead recordings yet to be released. It really is time to discuss more about the present-day Dead (which no longer uses "Grateful" in its name), as well as the side projects of the original Dead's surviving members: The new JGB, Ratdog, Phil Lesh & Friends, etc. -- Skeeter
i love the grateful dead, and there is nothing better than live dead with your head in the clouds...oh yeah wharfrat, you named yerself after my fav. dead song! i love the rockin the rhein version! [72 germany, y'know]
yes. THere is a lot better than listening to a tape. I prefer my GD straight and I looove many of the new jam bands. There IS life after Dead. that being said. I'll take a live tape over a studio disc almost anyday. I really like Fareed Haque's Cosmic Hug CD. www.fareed.com
In the most literally taking of your post - is there anything better than seeing the grateful dead live - no there isn't but I'm with drummin' - there is a lot of great shows to see on the scene today. my personal favorite act to see live is Assembly of Dust doesn't really matter if I'm drunk and stoned though
hell no man...that is how you find the songs by them you really love...when youre stoned it is almost like the music fills you...i love it
am I the only one who sees a really od dichotomy with Warf Rat posting about being smashed? sine Warf Rats are the clean and sober group.
I thought the same thing. I can remember going to a show at Giant's Stadium where I was 17 years old and asking the guy next to me if he wanted to smoke and he said no thanks, I am a Wharf Rat and explained it to me. The lyrics to the song lend well to the sober mission of the group.
they are... but ya know what? i find i listen to pigpen-era dead a lot more than their other stuff... man, pig's got soul...
oh god yeah, pigpen is so awesome. i love him!!! [btw, i got a pic of him grabbing janis' boob in my photogallery haha]
