.. instead of being all symbolic and confusing.. grr.. I dream about horses very very often (I can remember my dreams very well and dream up to a couple of times a week about horses).. the dreams never really involves around horses completely, but somehow there is always some kind of horse present. As a kid I loved riding horses but I don't do it any more (financial reasons, as well as not wanting to just sit on some strange horse for an hour.. if I could have a big house, meadow and my own horse, that would be a different story). Anywho.. I don't think I dream about horses because something I see or hear on TV triggers it. So I guess they are there for a reason. Like last night.. I was dreaming about me staying somewhere.. like a hotel or a ranch or something.. and there was this stable thingie with an area for the horses that I had to cross sometimes. There was a white stallion (not like a very pretty fairy tale stallion, just a kinda dirty one from the mud'n such), and a brown female horse with baby horse. The stallion was really aggresive towards me.. the first few times I just stood there when he tried to kick me with his front legs and he calmed down.. but the last time I got scared and backed off, what seemed to make him more aggresive and come forward to me. Then it got kinda confusing, I bumped into the brown baby horse I think and the mama horse for some reason got killed which was like a sacrifice or sth, because the stallion calmed down completely after that. So.. ok.. wtf is that supposed to mean! Hehe.. normally I'm pretty good at reading between the lines when it comes to my dreams.. but stuff like this drives me crazy! What kind of message is this? *sigh*.. Other dreams are more like I'm riding a horse (without a saddle.. they just walk by or up to me and I hop on).. Any ideas?
i dream about horses very, very often as well. they are guides! if this dream is recurring, i'd suggest not backing off from the stallion. it sounds like he is trying to tell you something by being aggressive.
well.. maybe I figured out what it meant. Not liking it though. There is this refugee who is a little younger than me and I was looking after him a bit, washing his close, talking about his trauma's, taking him to the refugeecenter.. you know, kinda maternal stuff. But yesterday he was a bit pushy physically.. had to get mad at him (I have a bf and definately don't want to cheat! Plus I don't have any romantic feelings for him whatsoever).. anyways.. when he eventually left I kinda broke down.. I thought there was this.. like.. family-tie thing between us (he refers to me as sister sometimes) but last night he was definately not treating me as family. I wasn't in real danger or anything.. because I backed off.. but my maternal feelings kinda died for him. Feeling way less safe now (he's a big strong guy, could overpower me VERY easily if he wants to). Wish those horses could just talk.. I could've seen it coming. *sigh*.. guess I should be more in tune with my dreams..
the fine details of dreams are extremely important, and it seems you did a really wonderful job putting the pieces together. that situation sounds scary and a bit sad as well, but i'm glad you're ok.
Everything is fine again now.. we talked it over yesterday and we're cool.. so.. thank you horsies for trying to warn but it's all ok
Ok.. had another dream about horses that I'd like to share. it was a small scruffy brown horse (the ones who spend winter outside, long hair).. could be a big pony as well. I was sitting on it, legs dangling from either side and there was some kind of contest coming up, like a race.. we knew that we would have no chance of winning from the others and for some reason the life of the horse was at stake. We decided to enter the race anyway and try to escape.. like break out of the formation and seek refugee somewhere. Weird dream.. 'cause it never got to the race.. it was only me sitting on him and communicating without using words. Like a shared conscience or sth. Wonder what it means.
Lol, as a rule, Horse dreams are sexual.... Think about it, all that *rhythmic* galloping... those powerful, muscular legs.... riding bareback.... lol SOUNDS like someone might be sexually frustrated... Do you chew ice cubes as well, lololol??
lol if only dreams were that easy to interpret... unfortunately, we don't dream about a huge marching parade with banners which read the actual meaning of the dream. The human mind is quite an astonishing thing.
Although horses in some cases might represent sexuality, usually they represent just 'energy'. Like a wild horse might be (the lack of) freedom, a black horse mystery and the unknown.. etc etc. Besides that, a totem animal can basically represent any unconscious message.. sexual or not. So, I do not agree that 'as a rule' every horsedream is sexual. And for the record, no, I'm not sexually frustrated, but thanks for your concern And also for the record, with all the horsebackriding I did as a kid.. I wasn't arroused Were you?
